Part Eleven: The Holidays

Chapter 53- Tamara Moves In

Once safetly on the plane heading to California, Taylor and Tamara talked about what was going to happen now.

"It's too dangerous for us to go home now," said Tamara, looking out the window. "Just in case they figure out that we didn't die in the explosion. We probably won't ever be able to live in our old house ever again, maybe not even in Tulsa."

"But you can't move!" Taylor whined. "That would suck."

"I know," she said sadly. "But what if we did all that work just to go home and be killed there anyway?"

"Yeah," said Taylor. "So that's why you can come live with us in California until things quiet down!"

"We couldn't possibly intrude on your family," said Mrs. Souder (Azkaban?)

"No, it's no problem," said Taylor. "We have tons of room and my parents know about your situation. And Tamara could just sleep in my room," he said slyly.

"Ha! In your dreams, pervert," she laughed.

"Well, your family has always been so good to Tamara, taking her on the tour with you and everything," said Mrs. Souder. "If you're sure your parents wouldn't mind, it would be be the perfect place to hide out for a while."

"I'm sure they won't mind," Taylor said. "It'll be fun!"

The plane landed about five hours later in California, where it was only 2:00 in the afternoon. Feeling very jet-lagged, they hailed a cab and went to the Hanson's home. Diana and Walker were by the pool when Taylor dragged his suitcases inside. When they saw him, they immediatley jumped up and gave him hugs.

"What took you so long?" Diana cried. "We thought you would be back two days ago!"

"Well, there were some people I had to invite to stay with us, so I went to the Caymen Islands to get them," he explained matter o'factly.

Diana and Walker were at a loss for words when they saw Tamara and her mom come in after Tay. "Well, I...this is a surprise! Tamara, how are you?" asked Diana, giving her a hug. "And Judy! Seems like forever!"

"Sure has," said Tamara's mom. "We don't want to intrude or anything, so we'll be going now."

"No!" said Taylor quickly. "You're staying here with us until everything is safe."

"Safe?" questioned Walker.

"It's a very long story," said Tamara. "Everybody should sit down."

So it was decided that Tamara and her mom would be staying with the Hanson family until at least the new year. Tamara was sharing a room with Jessica and Mrs. Souder was sleeping on the pull- out sofa in the living room. They had told the Hanson's the whole story of Johnny Azkaban and the mafia and how they blew up the boat to stage their own deaths. They had left out the part of killing Eddie and Diego so it wouldn't upset anyone.

"So me and mom were basically prisoners in that house for the last three weeks," Tamara shuddered. "I can't believe my own father..."

"I never knew my husband was the infamous Johnny Azkaban," said Judy. "We never would have guessed. There were little things of course, like his always traveling and never being able to reach him at work. I believe that he was a good person who got trapped with the wrong kind of people." She sighed. "Now it's just me and Tamara."

"Well, we'll be here for you, of course," said Taylor.

Diana nodded. "Of course! Anything you need."

"Oh, thank you," said Judy. "Such nice people, that sure is a change from the last few weeks, huh, kiddo?" Tamara nodded and yawned.

"I think all of you should get some rest before dinner," said Walker. "We'll help take your stuff up to your rooms and you can take a nap. You too, Taylor."

"Where's Zac and Ike?" he asked.

"At the studio, working on something," said Walker. "They've been doing pretty good, but you haven't missed much. You can just go into tommorrow and record some vocal parts."

The thought of going to the studio tommorrow wasn't appealing to Taylor. He felt like he needed to sleep for twenty days straight to feel totally rested. He dragged himself up to his room and flopped on the bed. It had been quite a last three days and he was ready to get back to normal, no more crazy fans, stalkers, Mafia killings, no obnoxious girl singers. He wanted to get the album done. But he knew nothing normal ever happened to him anymore and he was ready for the next big adventure.
