Chapter 59- A Perfect Match

Luckily, the Greenberg's left the next day and the house was back to normal.

"Never again," sighed Diana.

"I hear ya, sister," said Zac. "Bob ate all the beans and I really wanted some. I thought we were friends!"

Taylor looked up from his bowl of cereal and shook his head. "Sorry that Thanksgiving was a bust, Mom."

"Oh well, you know, shit happens," said Diana.

"Mom!" exclaimed Taylor. Diana walked out of the room, still dazed from the day before.

"Poor mother," said Isaac, finishing off his fifth Hot Pocket. "I guess it was a disaster, really."

"Indeed!" said Zac.

"You can say that again," Taylor said. "I'm never going to find anyone for Scott! And I'm sick of inviting him everywhere!"

Zac looked at him wisely. "You know Taylor. You were not meant to play God. You should just leave everything up to fate...and then Scott will find his one, true love." He looked Taylor in the eyes and then went back to eating his toast. Taylor stared at him for a few seconds and blinked.

"Yeah, thanks Yoda," Tay said. "Anyway, I want to remind you all that we are going to Haley's record release party tonight at Club Liquid."

Ike almost choked on his Ham and Cheese hot pocket. "WHAT? Why would we ever want to go to that?" he asked.

"Because Ike! Scott's gonna fall in love with her!" Taylor explained ferverently.

"Taylor! This has got to stop!" Ike said back. "All of your little plans to set Scott up have ended in disaster! Why don't you just TALK to him and tell him to back off from Tamara?"

"I can't just do that! He'll beat the crap out of me! Besides, this one will work out, I can feel it."

"Sure it will," said Zac. "May the force be with you."

It was around 6pm that night when Taylor decided it was time to call Scott invite him to go to the party.

"Hey, uh, Scott? What's up, this is Taylor," he said into the phone.

"What do you want?" asked Scott suspiciously.

"Well, don't think I actually want to talk to you or anything," Taylor said quickly. "It's just this. Our record company is having a party downtown and they said I should invite your band to come, since you're on the Canadian sister label or whatever, I don't know, but you have to come."

"What's it for?" he asked.

"Just some artists releasing CDs, nothing that exciting, it's just good press to attend. And believe me, your band needs good press," Taylor smirked.

"Haha oh that's funny," said Scott. "Fine, we'll go, but we're not arriving with you. We'll find our own way there."

"Fine with me. It's at Club Liquid and starts at 9. Later," said Tay as he hung up the phone.

He turned around to see Tamara standing behind him. "Nothing you try is gonna work, Taylor," she said, holding Zoe.

"Why is everyone against me?" asked Taylor.

"Because you're stupid!" screamed Zoe.

"Yes," agreed Tamara.

When it was almost time to go, Taylor found his brothers up in Ike's room, reading something off of the computer.

"Guys, it's almost time to go," said Taylor.

"Oh you gotta wait," said Ike. "I'm reading this hilarious fan fiction story. Man, they're all the same! It's always just a dumb love story between you and some girl, Taylor."

"Yeah and I'm always really stupid in all the stories!" said Zac. "These people sure don't know me!"

"Yeah and I always have like one line," said Ike. "It's like I'm too boring to write about or something."

"Oh come on guys! I can't believe you're reading Hanson fan fiction! You must have no life!" exclaimed Taylor.

"This one's really good, though," said Ike. "It's about you and how the girl you are in love with, dies and they you leave a rose by her grave."

"Oh yeah, I read that one," remembered Taylor. "I mean....uh, let's go retards."

They walked downstairs to the front door and to Taylor's relief, there was a normal looking limo outside waiting for them. Tamara and the rest of the Hanson family stood by the door. Ike, Tay and Zac were the only ones going to the party since it was very exclusive. Tamara wasn't too happy that she couldn't keep an eye on Haley Adiela, that homewrecker.

"Remember, Taylor, stay away from her!" warned Tamara.

"I just have to introduce her to Scott!" he said defensively. "You don't have to worry."

"Yes, but still, the whole thing just worries me."

"Well, don't," said Taylor, giving her a peck on the cheek. "We won't even be there that long. Bye everyone," he said as he and his brothers walked out the door.

When they got to the club, it was packed with celebrites from music, TV and movies. Taylor looked around and finally saw the Moffatts talking with LeAnn Rhimes. He walked over to them, with Zac and Ike trailing behind.

"This kinda sucks," said Ike. "I don't even see Don Barkley here!"

"Who?" asked Taylor. "Ike, shut up."

"Okay," said Ike.

"Hey, there's Bob!" exclaimed Zac. "Man am I gonna tell him off for eating all the beans..."

When they reached the Moffatts, Taylor just kinda muttered hi to Scott and they stood there. LeAnn wandered off to talk to someone else and the Moffatts stood staring at the Hansons.

"Well, what's going on?" asked Taylor desperately.

"Not much. I'm just so stuffed from that dinner last night," Scott said smirking.

"Why you little..." Taylor started to say. Just then, he saw Haley Adiela walking by where they stood. He reached out and grabbed her by the arm.

"Haley!" he said.

Her face registered shock when she saw him. "Taylor! What are you doing here?" she asked darkly.

"Well believe me, it's not to see you," he glared. "It's our record label too you know. Anyway, I want you to meet Scott Moffatt. Oh and his brothers too."

Haley turned and looked at Scott. "Hi, nice to meet you," she said holding out her hand. "I gotta go, I'm on stage in 3 minutes. Cya around." She walked off, leaving Taylor with his mouth open.

"No, that can't be all I get!" he cried. Scott looked at him weirdly.

"What is wrong with you?" Scott shook his head. "Man, that's the second girl I've seen you try to hit on since I've been with you. If I had Tamara, I wouldn't even look at any other girls."

"What??? Oh please, I'm not talking to them for ME!" exclaimed Taylor. "I'm doing it all for you!"

"For ME?" scoffed Scott. "Why the heck are you doing it for me? What, you think I can't get a girl myself? HA!"

The two guys were glaring at each other when Haley got on stage and spoke into the microphone. "I'd like to thank everyone for coming to my record release party and I hope you all will have a great time. I'd especially like to give a special thanks to my husband, Don Barkley," she smiled, holding up her ring finger, showing a huge diamond ring.

Taylor gasped. "Her husband?! WHAT? Noooooo!!!!!!!!"

Isaac's eyes lit up. "So Don Barkley is here!" he exclaimed. "I knew it!"

"WHO?!" Taylor screeched. "Well that's it then," he said, defeated. "There's no one else to set Scott up with. The end." His shoulders slumped down. "We might as well go." He started to push his way out towards the exit, when he slammed into someone. The back of her head looked very familiar...but it couldn't be...

"SIERRA???" Taylor exlaimed increduosly. The girl turned around and indeed, it was Sierra, Taylor's ex-girlfriend. "What the heck are you doing here?"

"Taylor? Oh my gosh, what a small world," she said boredly. "I work here. I moved to L.A to try and get my modeling career going."

"Oh. Well, how's it going?" he asked.

"Not to well, that's why I work here," she muttered.

"Well that's too bad. What do you have there?" he asked, referring to the tray of drinks she was carrying. "Big gulps, eh? ...Well, see ya later!" He was about to leave when Scott came up to him.

"What, you're leaving already?" he asked. "I'll take a Big Gulp," he said in the direction of Sierra, taking out some money. He looked up to give it to her and stopped when he saw her. "Whoa...hi, my name's Scott," he said, getting a familiar grin on his face, kinda like the one he got when he talked to Tamara.

"Hi," said Sierra seductively. "I'm Sierra...nice to meet you." They stood staring at each other for a few seconds and Taylor looked at Sierra, then at Scott and then back to Sierra. He started to back up away from them.

"No way," he tried to say. "No way." He backed up into Isaac and started laughing hysterically.

"Geez, what's wrong with you?" asked Ike. Taylor couldn't say anything, he was laughing so hard that the tears were streaming down his face. Ike looked over and saw Scott and Sierra chatting. Sierra was flirting and she put her hand on Scott's arm and laughed at something he said. Scott was enjoying it and had forgotten all about Taylor.

"Whoa, is that Sierra?" asked Isaac. "Wow! Looks like her and Scott are hitting it off! But I thought she was a lesbian!"

"Apparently she got over that," said Taylor between his snorts of laughter. "Come on guys, let's get out of here, this party's beat."

As they were walking out the door, Taylor glanced back and saw that Scott and Sierra were dancing to a slow song on the dance floor. He just shook his head and headed to the limo. Looks like Scott finally found his perfect match.
