This is a circle I wrote for my Litha ritual for last year. It is best performed outside, preferably in late afternoon to sunset. If the fireflies are out, so much the better! It shall add to the tranquility and calmness... and the magick! Enjoy!!
First, walk once about the circle area with the water in a deosil direction, sprinkling it on the ground, intoning:
"By water which is Her essence,
Undine spirits,
We call your presence
To cleanse and purify this sacred space."
Walk once about the circle with the incense, saying:
"By air and fire that is Her breath and spirit,
Slyphs and Firedrakes,
We call your presence
To cleanse and purify this sacred space."
Walk about the circle with the rose petals, sprinkling them as you go, saying:
"By petal that is of rose and thorn,
Earth’s manifest in this sacred place.
Blood and passion,
On this night,
In this sacred time and space.
By these petals that are Their bodies,
Our circle I do trace."
Now close your eyes and in your mind’s eye, see all of the element representations and elemental spirits dancing deosil around the circle, slowly dissolving to blue light, and spreading out to create the protective bubble of light. While this visualization is taking place, each member takes one of the following (they are to go in order.)
"The circle is cast,
We are between the worlds,
Beyond all time and space,"
"Spirits of Summer,
Dance herein,"
"Earth’s song,
Weave to create."
All: "So mote it be."
