To save you a trip to your city or town hall your voter registration can usually be taken care of while at the Department of Motor Vehicles. They usually include a space on the name change or address change form to make the changes for voter registration. They may also have a separate form you can fill out. Be sure to ask. If not, each state has different requirements and procedures.
A helpful resource is the below link which is a national voter registration link. They also have information on your local requirements. If you never registered to vote, now is your chance.
