Peter Madden--driver of the #41 Featherlite Tour Modified

Peter Madden has been racing for over 25 years. As a teenager, he competed across the eastern U.S. in the ranks of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association). Peter then progressed to driving his father's Yankee Modified on asphalt tracks in New England. Eventually the Modifieds gave way to fiberglass-bodied stock cars called Pro Stocks. It was in this division that Peter gained notoriety.

Behind the wheel of the "red #40", Peter spent eight years honing his driving skills at different tracks, becoming a recognized threat to win wherever he and the team showed up. Peter's talent became evident during 1995 and 1996, when in 23 starts he had 9 wins, 19 top-five finishes and one track qualifying record which has yet to be broken. In February of 1997 Stock Car Magazine featured an article on Peter which outlined his accomplishments and his goals.

Three years ago, Peter wanted to progress to a higher level or racing, so he left the ranks of the ProStocks and moved up to race in NASCAR's Featherlite Modified Tour. The level of intensity and professionalism in this division could not be rivaled, except on the Winston Cup circuit. The cars are extremely fast and the racing is very close. In addition, the crew plays a pivotal role during the pit stops that occur every race.

Peter Madden is a driver who is not satisfied unless everyone else is behind him. He drives with skill, cunning, calculation and determination. He is an extremely focused individual who can feel what a car is doing underneath him and can effectively communicate how to make a car better.

As an individual, Peter Madden is without match. He is professional in everything he does, whether at work or at the track. He always has time to talk to other competitors or fans. He is kind and polite. Even when he is having a bad day, Peter always manages to smile and make others do the same.
