The best and most beautiful things
in the world cannot be seen or even touched
They must be felt with the heart.

Brett and I visited Arizona this past July. Despite minor inconveniences like lost luggage, going in circles ..a good time was had by all.
As planned, we drove up to the

Grand Canyon as we did last
summer. That is one awe inspiring site..let me tell you.. This year I was not a big *baby*...*G*, I actually got to see it...
Last time the boys thought they'd have to peel me off the walls. Shawn and Brett were planning on a helicopter ride through the canyon but there were severe
thunder/lightning storms. Maybe next time..*S*
The kids enjoyed a visit to a working mine, but were disappointed they didn't get to
go down into it...(thankful for small mercies)...L*..We drove down to the Tucson area to visit the Bioshere2..fascinating place which has now been taken over by
I think the most enjoyable part of the
trip was the horseback ride into the foothills of Cave Creek.
My Little Cowboy Brett
Many think of the desert as desolate but it really has it's own stark beauty...Nothing quite like the silhouette
of a giant saguaro cactus against the evening sky...At any rate ..it's good to be home...*S*...
I had the good fortune to be involved with a week of "back to nature"
with my youngest son. There were 130 sixth grade boys and girls and 12 teachers/chaperones...and I think I've regained my sanity...L*.
In spite of themselves they learned a lot about science and nature, and amazingly enough...so did I. *g*
