The Beyond has to be one of the best ‘zombie’ movies that I have seen since Evil Dead and Braindead, although this movie takes the subject seriously. The film is the second sequel to the banned ‘Zombie Flesh Eaters’, and boasts a good healthy amount of gore, especially good for 1984.
*Crappy editing, but it’s a VIPCO movie.
Here are the highlights:

1) A window smashes and the glass goes into a doctor’s face, and you see a load of blood gush down his face.

2) At the start, a bloke is painting when a mob appears and nails him to the wall, and you see the nails go in, and blood coming out, then they chuck acid into his face...

3) A woman visits a morgue and faints, knocking over a bottle of acid, which spills onto her head...

"A young woman inherits a decaying hotel on the edge of a Louisiana swamp, unaware that more than fifty years ago it served as the gateway to hell, and that it’s horrific evil lives on to this day. Her dream to build a new life for herself becomes a nightmarish fight for survival as horrors straight out of Lovecraft’s Book of Eibon lay their own claim to her property, and the souls around her..."
