"The most successful independent motion picture of all time... A horror classic that will scare you out of your wits!"

"First came Halloween, then came Friday the 13th. And Friday pissed all over it" - Robert Winson’s horror guide

‘Michael Myers escaped from the Illinois State Mental Hospital after 15 years of treatment for the brutal murder of his sister and has returned to Haddonfield to relive his crime.’ I first watched Halloween about 16 years ago, and remembered it for being particularly scary, and I remember thinking that Michael Myers was invincible because he keeps getting up each time he is knocked down, and at the end, he escapes after his apparent death. Now, looking at it, I see a cheap low budget no-gore boring hour and a half, with little entertainment. It has since been bettered by the Magnificent splendour of Friday the 13th and many other titles, including it’s own sequel, the great Halloween 2. The best thing about Halloween is the suspense and the atmosphere which help the time go by until the end. Not bad, but not outstanding, and a little boring after the first time. The creator, John Carpenter put the setting of the movie in ‘suburbia’ because we do not expect evil to lurk there, but that was 20 years ago, and now not even the suburbs are safe. And holiday camps by the lakeside are more eerie.
