"Most of the cast from the first film return (Unfortunately not Andrew Robinson), and the story picks up a couple of hours after the end of the original. Following her encounters with the demonic Cenobites, Kirsty Cotton is a patient at the Channard institute, a hospital for the mentally disturbed, but Dr Channard is prepared to go to any lengths to unlock the secrets of the outer darkness. He succeeds in releasing Julia Cotton from an old mattress, and together they travel to hell to confront the awesome powers of it’s master." Hellraiser 2 is definitely better than the original, but still has a long way to go before being as good as A Nightmare On Elm Street, or Halloween. One of the reason’s I don’t like it so much is the fact that it is seems half American and half English, which seems strange, and although fairly gory, the effects are no better than that of an early Sinbad movie.
