Story
Seven councillors, one camp expecting dozens of children and one deranged maniac with a twisted passion to kill all councillors in the area in a twenty year bid for revenge.
Steve Christie is thought of by the locals as being crazy for wasting all his money on developing the cursed Camp Crystal Lake, but with his friends Bill and Alice, he sets about restoring it so that children can once again enjoy it for the summer. As well as Alice and Bill, he has the help of five other councillors, Annie, Jack, Marcie, Ned and another, who arrive a few days before the kids are expected. Four of them travel together in a car, but Annie hikes, and unfortunately picks the wrong car to hitch with. Revealing that she is going to Camp Crystal Lake, the driver cuts Annie’s throat after a dramatic chase through local woods. That night after meeting the local Crazy, they settle down, only to be shot at by arrows, have an axe driven into one of them, Jack gets speared through the neck and the others get dispatched in similar fashion. Meanwhile Steve Christie is having a coffee at a local cafe and Alice decides to investigate why the electricity at the camp has been turned off. After Bill helps restore it, then gets killed, Alice boards herself into a room thinking herself safe from the maniac killer. Looking from the cabin window, she sees car lights approaching, and runs out to get their help. The driver of the car is Mrs Voorhees, whose son Jason died at the camp over twenty years ago. At first believing that Mrs Voorhees is friendly, Alice soon suspects something is wrong, and then Mrs Voorhees attacks her with a knife. A fight ensues which includes running from cabin to cabin, until they both end up fighting on the bank of Crystal Lake, where Alice uses Pamela Voorhees’ own Machete to decapitate her with, unknowing that in the wilderness, Jason is watching. In the wilderness which has been his home for twenty years ever since he nearly drowned. Alice is safe - for now...
Description
Friday 13th is perhaps one of the original classic horror movies, along side the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorsist and A Nightmare on Elm Street. It has the great atmosphere that brought the above movies to life, and with for a change, has a woman as the main killer. It is basically about a summer camp that is awaiting children for the summer season, when one by one, the councellors are murdered by the cook from a previous year at the camp. The best death is by far, the one where Jack is stabbed through the throat with the arrow.
