A Real Blessing Oct.2, 1992 .... Of course it was a real blessing for Joe & me, that we came to accept JESUS at the same time. If only one of us had been born again, we might have had a lot of problems getting along. Maybe we would have totally fallen apart. But I believe that the LORD would have given me the strength to pick up the pieces and go on. If I put HIM first, HE will always take care of me. I TRUST HIM because HE said in HIS WORD that..."..in everthing God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."Rom.8:28 So, if I obey HIM, no matter what happens in my life, HE will work all things for my good. I believe it. My faith is in HIM. Not in people. People will pass away, but GOD's WORD is FOREVER. We shouldn't choose to hold together our relationships with others by sacraficing our relationship with JESUS. We will loose everything in the end. We can't have it both ways. In Luke 14:26...JESUS says: "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father, mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple." verse 33..."So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple." Matthew 10:37-38...JESUS says:"He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." The meaning of these verses is clear....Neither any person nor any thing can be permited to take precedence over the LORD JESUS. HE must come FIRST. If and when you are ready to make such a commitment, you need to pray for your spouse or other family members or friends to also come to JESUS. It can happen! Nothing is impossible with GOD. Joe & I were so left-wing!! So ULTRA LIBERAL. Look what GOD did with us!!! (thank You Lord) Oh, we are FAR from perfect. Anyway....it has to be your decision. I can't force it. But it is the MOST IMPORTANT DECISION you will EVER make, because it will affect WHERE you will spend ETERNITY! We are all going to die...but we have souls that will live on for all ETERNITY....somewhere. Either HEAVEN or HELL. What's your choice? It is your choice you know. Going to church won't save you. Memorizing the names of the books in the BIBLE won't save you. Having a godly mother or father won't save you. saying bedtime or mealtime prayers won't save you. Wishing & hoping won't save you. THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY! TO BE SAVED...AT THE CROSS OF JESUS! That is why HE came...to die..for YOU! Won't you ask Him in? Do you believe in HEAVEN and (or) HELL? Where do you think you'll go when you die? If what you believe isn't TRUE, would you want to know? DO YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST??
