NEED HELP SAVING AN OLD KING BRIDGE?
As descendants of Zenas King’s family, we have set up a charitable gift fund at Fidelity Investments to grant money to help preserve OLD IRON BRIDGES and other structures built by the KING BRIDGE COMPANY. Eligible grantees must be either tax-exempt charitable organizations under section 501(c)(3) or be public charities under section 509(a) of the U.S. Tax Code.
Funds are limited, but we can help historical and preservation societies, educational or other qualified organizations interested in obtaining federal, state, or private funding. These funds should be used for preparing documents and displays, making cost estimates, organizing support; running meetings; doing research and other related activities that lead to the preservation and maintenance of worthy old bridges. While King built structures are our focus, we also might consider others of equal merit.
If you have a old King bridge in your area which could be productively preserved, and if you are a qualified charitable organization willing and able to champion the preservation effort, please let us know by contacting us at the addresses below. We would like to hear about the bridge and discuss how our gift fund can help.
