Five high school graduates learn about the value of friendship, the excitement of music, the inconsistencies of life and what it takes to make it in the recording industry.
After being a big hit at his school, Chris wants to take his music to the next level and get a recording contract. His friends and music partners, Gabby, Joey, Lisa and Doug are excited at the prospect.
Since Chris' Father passed away, he and his Mom, Connie, are trying the best they can to make ends meet. It's been difficult and their house is in jeopardy. Chris, of course, does not want his friends to know of his desperate situation.
When the opportunity comes to actually make a record deal, the company is only looking for a solo artist and has no interest in Chris' friends. He has to take the deal when the company offers a huge cash signing bonus. His friends feel betrayed and start making plans to form their own record label. They have a friend who helps them when sharp businessman, Paulie, moves into the neighborhood.
As his friends are starting their own record label and a kick off concert, Chris learns that working with a big record company isn't everything he thought it would be. They begin to change his music, his lyrics and even his appearance. But, more than that, he misses his friends and girlfriend, Gabby.
After Joey (his best friend) learns from Paulie that Chris only took the deal to help his Mom pay the mortgage, they all reunite and give an outstanding concert performance.
Paulie has a big surprise for them as he brings their music idol on stage to join them for the grand finale.
The film is a classic story where the underdog, going through trials and tribulations, finally sees his dream become a reality....surrounded by wall to wall music.
