~Kathleen~
Kathleen

Kathleen

She sits in front of her mirror,
Conversing with her reflection.
Her words seemingly unintelligible
Are understood by both.

Handicapped signs
And wheelchairs
And stumbling blocks
Seem all she'll ever know.

But right now the wide brown eyes
Looking back from the mirror
Show a spark of hope
For promises yet to be fulfilled.
