Another night of blackness
Chasing sleep through the darkness
As it hides yet around another corner
Laughing as it realizes
It has eluded me once again

So many thoughts whirling through my mind
Like the winds of a terrible ocean storm
I can almost feel the sand beating
Against my skin

The dark waves creeping higher and higher
Covering the sand and searching for me
As I hide in the dark
The ocean calls my name

Beckoning me to come unto it
Teasing me with quiet and the beauty
That can be found in it's very deepest depths

The peace that I yearn for
The rest I so desperately need
The end of the pain
A release from the desperation
I have felt for so long

A guarantee that my dreams
Will not be shattered yet one more time
Do I answer the call
Or do I go on just one more day
