I stand on the shore
The water lapping at my feet
Sounds of the ocean
Drowning out the harshness of the world
Calls of the gulls echoing in my ears
I am at peace

Walking on the shore
Tiny shells abound
Coming across some of God's gifts
A starfish at my feet
Further along, the perfection of a sand dollar

There is no one else here
No one to see what I see
Or hear the sounds I hear
I share this time
This time of contentment
With no one

I am here alone
Alone with God
With the unmatched beauty
That He has created
The sea, the sky, the sunset
I am at peace
