Flatbread Very Good
Mix together:
2 c. warm water
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. butter, margarine, or oil
2 tsp. salt (this is critical! It helps the little gluten strands)
Add to above and mix very well:
1 c. flour
1 pkg. rapid rise yeast
Add 1 c. flour and mix very well.
Add 2 1/2 to 3 c. more flour.
(The recipe takes 4 1/2 to 5 c. total flour)
If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer with dough hooks, let it do the work. If
not:
Turn out on floured board and knead until dough is smooth and satiny.
Add flour as necessary so it doesn't stick to the board or your hands.
Let rise for about 1 1/2 hours in a lightly greased bowl in a draft-free
place, covered with a dishtowel.
Punch down. Turn out on lightly floured board and cover with the bowl. Let
it rest this way 10 minutes.
Flour a cookie sheet (don't grease!). Put the dough on the sheet and
lightly roll out. Put flour on top.
Prick all over with a fork. Let rise about 30-45 minutes.
Bake in pre-heated 400 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes. (The flour on
the cookie sheet will get very brown, but be sure the bread is done (check
the bottom or stick with a toothpick) before taking out of oven.)

Turkey Wreath
This recipe will make two wreaths and can be cut in half for just one.
You need a round baking stone or a pizza pan or the back of a very large broiler pan rubbed with a little olive oil.
1. Mrs. Cubbisons corn bread stuffing
2. 1/2 cup cran raisens
3. 1 small bag of pecans
4. chicken broth or water
5. 1 cup chopped celery
6. 1/2 to 1 cup chopped onions
7. a chopped apple
8. 3 tblsp fresh parsley, or 1 tblsp dried
9. 1 cup chopped chicken or turkey
10. 1/2 cup gravy (chicken or turkey gravy)
11. 1/2 tsp. course black pepper
12. 4 packages (8 oz each)crescent rolls
Add to the stuffing , the cran raisens, pecans, chicken broth or water, chopped celery and onions, chopped apple, parsley
Prepare and bake as stated on the box. You want it dryer than normal.
Preheat oven to 375*
When the stuffing is done and cooled add chicken or turkey. Add gravy and work in the mixture very well.
On the stone or pizza pan make a wreath by unrolling two pkgs. of crescent roll dough: seperate into 16 triangles, with wide ends of triangles toward the center. Arrange 8 triangles in a circle on the stone or pan. Corners of wide ends will touch and points will extend 1 inch beyond edge of Baking stone. Match wide end of each outer triangle, seal seams together by pressing them into each other. (points will overlap in the center) Inside the thickest area of the dough, get a handful of stuffing mixture and mold into the wreath, and form a circle with the mixture.Beginning in the center, lift one dough triangle across the mixture. Continue alternating with outer strips, slightly overlapping to form the wreath. Tuck the last end into the first.
Seperate egg. Beat egg white lightly : brush over dough using a pastry brush. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cut and serve. Make two of these to serve 20 people. You can put mashed potatoes in the center and gravy poured over it all is a real treat! And beautiful!!
