The Sorceress's Tome of Knowledge

You enter the library and discover a dusty and time-worn volume entitled The Sorceress's Tome of Knowledge.
It lies open on the table at page 666.

Chapter 13: On Directing Fate

Section 1 - Misleading Prophecies

One of the favorite pastimes of any cultivated hag is directing lost souls in erroneous directions. This may be accomplished in any number of ways, allowing the imaginative witch to exercise her creativity. The powerful and renowned oracle at Delphi exemplifies the most popular method of misleading well-meaning fools. Offer any power-hungry mortal a prophecy of greatness and it shall spark a fire in his bosom that is sure to consume even the most virtuous heart. Most witches find the activity amusing because they can speak so plainly yet give nothing away…

Section 2 - When Doom Eludes You

If your victim happens to be particularly astute and not easily led astray, perform the following spell to facilitate your contrivances:

Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blindworm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing;
For a charm of pow'rful trouble
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Chorus:
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Ad lib, repeating chorus after each verse.
