Tennyson Valentin Bush
October 1998 -- Eleven Months
Tennyson Valentin Bush was welcomed into our family on November 26, 1997--Thanksgiving Eve. We are so thankful for him, and having him as our son has brought a new understanding of gratitude.
Now he is almost TWO years old, loves football and trying to play catch, anything to do with Veggietales, and dancing with Mommy. He readily goes along with any play initiated by Johnny, and is so sweet to Reagan. He is very sensitive--quick to say, "I'm sorry, Mommy." As Daddy says, "Nobody is happier and nobody is sadder than Tennyson."
Tennyson was NOT named after the dinky town in west Texas, but for the poet laureate of Victorian England. He is also named to honor John's Russian instructor at DLI, Valentina. His Russian diminutive is Valya. His Uncle Andrew gave him the nickname that we most use, Tennybuddy.
Tennyson is potty-trained now! Our big day was March 7, 2000. Now he is wearing "unders," is "Big Boy Tennyson" instead of "Little Boy Tennyson," and gets to get a potty training balloon! *grin* I forgot how EASY it was to have just ONE in diapers. . . For the past 28 months I've had two in diapers, and for four of those months all three boys were in diapers. So, I'm a happy mama. . .
LULLABYE
From The Princess
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Sweet and low, sweet and low,
Wind of the western sea.
Low, low, breathe and blow,
Wind of the western sea!
Over the rolling waters go,
Come from the dying moon, and blow,
Blow him again to me;
While my little one, while my pretty one, sleeps.
Sleep and rest, sleep and rest,
Father will come to thee soon;
Rest, rest, on mother's breast,
Father will come to thee soon;
Father will come to his babe in the nest,
Silver sails all out of the west
Under the silver moon:
Sleep, my little one, sleep, my pretty one, sleep.
