Michelle has won her 9th World Figure Skating medal in a row and along with that, she broke one more figure skating record. After her wonderful virtually flawless free skate, Michelle received 6, 6.0's for presentation. That brings her up to 50 in major figure skating competitions, the most of any figure skater in the world, man or women. Also, she will probably hold that title and the title as the last figure skater to receive a 6.0, forever. In June 2004 the scoring sytem will change, and there will be no more 6.0's.
Michelle now has all three colors of World Figure Skating Championship medals, as she won bronze this year. The penalty she received for skating 2 seconds over the alloted time in the short prgram just might have done it. The USFSA did protest it, but the protest was not allowed.

3/1/04 - "With all the national championships, the Four Continents Championships, the Grand Prix Series and now the European Championships over, there is only one major competition left for the top skaters — the World Championships March 22-29 in Germany."
March 8, 2004 - Worlds is almost here, and we thought that the competitions would be over for the year. But there is one competition left, Marshalls World Skating Challenge on April 6 in Providence R.I. This is a one day competition that Michelle will go into having skated on the Champions on Ice tour and at the Worlds days before. Michelle, Sasha Cohen, Evgeni Plushenko and other top skaters plan on attending.
