Oct. 30 from Joy (opening night)- It is 2:15 a.m. and we are back from the candlelight reception after the FABULOUS opening night of 'Werther'. I will let someone else give their review of the opera in detail. Let me just say Andrea's performance was spectacular! He was in great voice and he was very confident. But the BEST part was after the opera, those of us who were lucky enough to go to the candlelight dinner got to meet him! Yes, Debbie, I actually shook his hand!! And Angie had enough stones to ask him if she could touch his face! He told her "I grant your request." She rubbed the back of his hand down his face. It was unreal! After the dinner, Angie and I got to ride in the elevator with him and after he exited the elevator he bumped into me and said "Oh, excuse me." Needless to say, we are in seventh heaven right now. Many of us got to meet him and Linda Nordstrom got a kiss on both cheeks from him after she presented him with a beautiful portrait that she had painted of him. We feel like Cinderellas at the ball. This has been such an exciting night for all of us and there will be many reports to follow. Tonight has been a dream come true and I will never forget this evening as long as I live.
