As Christians we are called to walk
The pathway straight and true,
Thus following Christ’s example
In everything we do.

There is no point in talking
Of the faith that we profess,
Whilst exhibiting to other
A life of Godlessness.

As a vehicle for learning
The eye’s better than the ear,
Since wise counsel may confuse
But example’s always clear.

So like the moon which has no light
But reflects that of the sun,
We the righteousness of Jesus
Can reflect to everyone.

If consistently we do this
In thought, in word, in deed,
The sceptics who are waiting
To the change will soon take heed.

No longer can they say
A real hypocrite is he
Or she’s not one bit better
Than unbelieving me.

The standards were not set by me
But by Him Who gave His all,
So Christian play your part
By responding to the call.
