Someday the Lord will come again To take His vengeance on sinful men For rejecting the gift of His Dear Son And for wicked deeds which they have done His death on the cross they've counted naught Neither forgiveness from sin nor cleansing sought No man knoweth the day nor the hour When Christ will come in flaming fire But He told his disciples in days of old To watch, for signs that would surely unfold That before his return upon this earth Evil men would wax worse and worse There will be first a falling away Before that great and terrible day! "Many will run to and fro." A present sign we all do know False Christs and prophets shall both arise Their lying wonders will many surprise There will be wars, commotions, and rumors too Droughts, famines, and pestilences new While troubles surge on every hand The Jews will go back to their land Their old wasted desert that everyone knows Will flourish and blossom like a rose As in the days of Noah so shall it be A time of woe and misery Such awful distress among nations Will surpass all time since creation! Even father, mother, sister, and brother Will decieve, betray and kill one another! No flesh on earth can be saved Except the Lord shorten those days Fear will be seen on many faces As the earth quakes in divers places; Some shall weep, while others wail Knees will tremble and hearts fail! Signs in the sun, the stars, and the moon Will signify that Christ is coming soon! Yet the following two events on earth, must be Before His sign in Heaven we see: The Blessed Gospel must be hurled To every nation around the world No one shall suffer the plagues and strife Whose name is enrolled in the Lamb's Book of Life. All sleeping saints shall arise from the ground When they hear the last trumpet sound Those living will be changed at the wink of an eye And meet their Lord up in the sky. The Lord Himself in infinite love Will take all Christians to Heaven above That day will not come till He raptures His bride Though sinners disbelieve and even deride. Then upon earth, the dreadful tribulation Will fall on all creation. The Bible has warned you, dear folk- There will be thundering, lightning, vapor, and smoke! The sun now so bright and fair Will then become as black as sackcloth of hair! Hail shall fall exceedingly great To punish men for their wickedness sake. Grevious sores shall fall on men But they'll repent not from all their sin; Scorched with heat they'll blaspheme God's name And gnaw their tongues in awful pain! Locusts from the pit with stings in their tail For long, long months shall men assail Waters already turned to blood Will be made bitter by the star Wormwood Men will long their deaths to see But death itself will only flee Sinner, just think how you will feel When this old world begins to rock and reel. You'll think of God's love that you have spurned When the big round moon to blood is turned! The stars will fall and the earth will quake But too late, the Lord, you refuse to make! The earth shall fall like a chased roe, And then you will find no place to go- The Bible says you will call For the rocks and mountains upon you to fall: " Hide us from the face of the Lamb, The Great Day of His wrath is come, who is able to stand?" You'll fear to look on the Savior's face Because you rejected His mercy and grace. In darkness of Hell your soul will be cast Where memories dieth not but forever will last! No begging, no crying, nothing will gain Relief from the torture and of your burning pain O trust the Lord before it's too late And shun your doom from the burning lake! |
