Poor lost child, this Colorado girl
   The hopes of parents for this precious pearl
Seemed dashed upon the rocks of the sea
   As they opened her secret diary

She wrote of spells she conjured up
   As she dabbled with the witches cup
She hated her parents with all her might
   They read on in utter fright

As a friend wrote "You should do them in"
   "They'll never hassle you again"
And the teacher they planned to kill
   With tears, mom's eyes began to fill

For her daughter was always so depressed
   Out of control, life such a mess
A few years later a tragedy unfolds
   As student's shoot up the school halls

A boy holds a gun to her head
   "Do you believe in God?" he said
Without hesitation without any doubt
   "YES!!!" She blurted out

He pulled the trigger and ended her life
   That was full of Jesus instead of such strife
For this is the tale of Cassie Bernail
   With the faith of Jesus that would not fail

She fell in love with the Rock of Ages
   He changed the words in her diary pages
For He's a bigger God than we are sinners
   And no matter what happens, with Him, we are the winners

If God changed her in such a dramatic way
   Imagine what He can do for you today
No matter what you've done in your life before
   He can give you faith to forever endure
