Perplexities of life may rage and round me troubles roll, But I sail calmly, the Master is the Captain of my soul. The waves are deep, the winds blow fierce, and though I'm tossing high, I know, by grace, there is the harbour's safety by and by. Yes, man is like a ship a'sea upon eternity. With but a sail cast to the wind, a rudder to the lee. Our wisdom but a compass small, the course uncharted lies, And through the angry, breaking foam this vessel onward plies. Praise God, I've One Who at the helm, knows all, so unlike I, And when the journey reaches home, will moor in Heaven's sky. Though I am cast upon life's waves, nor understand the whole, I'm sure my Saviour knows and is the Captain of my soul. |
