How did I get "back" into this hobby?
.....maybe I better start with

what is an altered book ?

you start with an everyday book
(I get some of mine at tag sales)
or at the book store
(my mom hates when I do that LOL)
you can find some good deals in a bargain bin
or the library has sales too
(that was a tip from a gal on a news group)
or you can use a blank journal
a kids board book works well also
I like using odd shaped ones best !

once you got your book
you are ready to start

Pick a theme anything works believe me !

there is only one rule
there is no rules
once ya gota theme like a color or butterflies
or whatever floats your boat
(yup it could be boats LOL)

now rip away !
you can rip pages up,fold them up
glue things on them
there is tons of little trinkets around
scrabble tiles,stones,shells,
keys,feathers,tags,coins
the list is endless
you can glue all the pages together
to make a block then cut out the middle
and add stuff that has a bit of dimension!
this is just "very" short list of what you can do

Now you got an idea of what an altered book is
on to how I got back into it!

this is a long story so
I'll just cut to the good part

A good friend from work (Chris)
(she seems to believe I only think outside the box)
who works in our stores corp. office
had asked me if I knew anything about them

I had no idea what she was talking about
Not like thats anything new LOL

I came home went to the trusty internet
and Boom hooked...again LOL
