To make your own chalk:

--1 cup plaster of paris
--4 tablespoons water
--Food coloring
Mix these ingredients together to a toothpaste consistency.
Pour into cookie cutters
placed over waxed paper to make fun shapes.
To make BIG sticks,
pour mixture into toilet tissue tubes
that have been covered with waxed paper
on one end and secured with a rubber band.
Allow chalk to dry thoroughly
and remove from their molds.
Then watch the faces of your kids light up
when you present them with their own special chalks.
They'll be the "chalk"
of the town! Have fun!

Before you toss out that
bucket of broken pieces of crayons recycle them
with this tip:
(Guaranteed to be a hit!)
--Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.
Don't forget to ask mom or dad for help :-)
--Remove the paper from all the pieces of crayons.
Clean out a small flat can,
such as a tuna can, and fill it partially full of crayon pieces
(Don't worry about the colors.)
Place in the oven for about 20 minutes
until melted and the colors have run together.

(Don't stir, as you will end up with a yucky mud-colored mess!)

Let cool in the refrigerator until hard.
Pop out this new
BIG rainbow crayon
and see the delighted smiling faces of your children!
