I
was
born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in
Dorchester (one of
Boston's suburbs). Most of my youth was
spent in activities
invoving music.
I started studying the
accordion at age
nine ( I can remember my dad selling his
favorite parrot, "Peter"
to buy my first accordion -- I still have it
after 48
years).
I marched in drum and bugle
corps from the age of
13 until I turned 19. I can remember not
only the parades and
competitions, but also the monthly"military
balls", where we
danced to live orchestras.
OH MY
(thinking back)!! Just
having the visions of the young men wearing
their "corps"
uniforms proudly, with the young women
donning their finest
flowing gowns and corsages are fond memories
I cherish. It was
an era when you would never even think of
kissing until the third
date.
I was married in 1966, and we
had our first child, John, in 1968. In 1970 we had
Janice, and in 1973,
Jennifer,
followed by
David in 1974, Brian in
1976, and
last but not least,
The Good Lord gave us Caitlin to raise in
1985.
Although I
haven't played the accordion in a few years
my currrent
activities include barbershop singing (I sing
the best
part--"baritone"), golf (an avid participant
in as many club
tournaments as I can), and raising (and
worrying about) my
family.
My three sons are currently
living out of state and
we don't see them much. Our oldest daughter
is married and lives
fairly locally. That leaves Caitlin (the
youngest). She is
still living at home and goes to
school.
We also share our
home with one three pets, a dog (Rex) who is
about 15 years old,
but thinks he's a pup (acts like it too), two
cats (Lucky), who
was born around the time "ALF" was a popular
TV sitcom (thats how
she got her name), and
(Taz), who must have
studied his namesake
well (he is very affectionate and sweet, but
only when you are
looking --- but -- just turn your back and
all hell breaks
loose).
I have been in sales since
1971, and other than a
part time position I hold now at Sears
Roebuck,where I sell
appliances, I am looking for a full time
position as a sales
representative, or a sales trainer position
with a food service
related organization.
I just purchased
a Webtv unit in
Sepember of 1998 and have turned into a junky
and have met so
many nice new friends (some of who challenged
me to dress up my
"boring" Email page (green print on a black
page). One of them
(rixxk) sent me a copy of Draacs 123, and I
not only met that
challenge, but now have gone into the world
of web pages.
I
have collected many pages designed by other
people, especially if
they contain midis, as well messages and
links dealing with love,
friendship, and understanding of one another,
as well as our
place and purose on this earth, and our
responsibilities toward
protecting the beauty of nature.
