Mom,

Moments are envisioned,

in my mind's eye..

Of childhood days...

As the years have gone by.

Tender memories of your warm touch..

Hugs I treasure to this day...

So much.

Each day you instilled the belief..

Reinforcing to me...that I could

Reach for the stars and succeed...

At whatever I chose to be.

And I still believe...

Because of you.

I wrote this poem for my Mom a few years ago.  I was blessed to have her in my life and I am also blessed .... that there was never a question of the love that was shared between the two of us.  She was not only my Mom, but my staunchest supporter, my best friend and confidante.  My Mom passed away on April 27th, 2003 and I will miss her with all my heart.  As the song states:  When one of us is gone and one of us is left to carry on, then remembering will have to do....our memories of love will see us through.  I'll think of all the days of me and you....you and me against the world.
