waited a lifetime to find a love like ours. Sometimes

Where it was dark,
There is now light in my heart.
Holding you close and kissing under the stars,
Only separated by the fact,
That we live far apart.
Needing you by my side.
The time without you,
Has become my cross to bear.
But now I'm preparing myself,
For the long lonely ride,
Knowing at the end of this journey,
You will be near.
That I know constantly surrounds me,
But because of circumstances,
There remains an air of uncertainty.
Neither of us will have to look back,
No longer carrying excess baggage within,
Or suitcases we have to constantly unpack.
For the love which sustains us,
Is a forever kind of love;
Its a love that will last.
Seems to make up a large part of my life.
I dream of the future and happier days,
Reunited forever, as man and wife.
I can see the tears in your eyes
And I feel the beating of your heart,
When once again,
It is time to say goodbye.
And saying goodbye to you, always saddens me,
But then you caught me by surprise.....
With a smile and a twinkle within your eyes.
I hear you say,
I'm not going anywhere
For where you are is home......
And I'm home to stay:).
Is what you are saying...true?
No longer any space to divide us?
Never again will I have to say goodbye to you?
As we smile and laugh with happiness,
Through our tears
And as we walk hand in hand together,
We know......
Our love will guide us and protect us,
Throughout our "happily ever after" years.
When I fall, you're my place to land.
I lose my touch, you're my hands,
The one I hold on to.
If you run out of reason to try,
I'll love enough for both you and I..
I'll be the one you can run to.
I'd rather go through any pain love puts us through,
Than to spend one day without you by my side.
