The three hot ingredients that make up Blink 182
Listen to-"Man
Overboard"
O.K., so Blink 182 has to be one of my favorite
bands
in the world!! If you ask why, let me tell you
why.
It's not just because they're unbelivably gorgeous
and photogenic, but their music is great too. If
you've actually paid attention to the lyrics, they
go
way deeper than Tom's whiny voice (which is so hot)
and their love of running around naked in
their videos LOL. . . They actually mean something.
Well, I'm not here to turn the band inside out, and
praise how awesome they are, and I'm not here to get
all scientific and serious about one the funniest
bands on the planet of earth. To some of you out
there, I may seem like a teenie-bopper who knows
NOTHING about her music, but over the past 4 years
I've liked them, they've become my favorite band in
all the land! So if you've been a
die-hard-hard-core
blink fan since back in the day, that's great.
ANyways, leme stop rambling, I'll skip the intro,
and leave you to read on about what I have to say
about Blink 182.
Before Blink became famous, they played in a garage, and just played locally in California. Well, that was before Travis Barker came into the picture. The original Blink drummer was Scott Raynor (Even though I wasn't a die-hard fan from the start, I'm writing from what I know about the band). Anyways, the first two albums they released before they became majorly famous wer "buddah" and "cheshire cat". in 1996, they released "dude ranch" and then in 1999 they released "enema of the state", with the newest addition to Blink. Travis Barker, origianally a drummer of the Aquabats, came into the scene in time to help out on "enema of the state." (lemme just add that travis barker is one of THE--no wait, lemme rephrase that--THE BEST drummer out there.) Anyways, Scott raynor left the band, (obviously) and (obviously) Blink wouldn't be Blink without a drummer. So that's how Travis came into the scene.
Blink was Blink 182's original name, but they had to change it, due to some legal purposes with another band who claims to say that they had the name "blink" first. Anyways, the 182 was added instead of changing the name totally. It's said from a rumor/myth that the 182 came from the number of times the F word was said in a movie. But that's not true.
UPDATE: O.K., if you don't know me already, you'll find out that I m ALWAYS the last person to find out things. Friday night I was scoping around Jen's page (link above hint, hint) and I was reading about Mark Hoppus and his girlfriend/WIFE. I almost died!!! no! anyways, if there's anything you think I don't know about Blink, let me know before I become the last person to find out about it.
