Looking at (https://www.angelfire.com/ma/vincemoon/world_cup_reigns.htm) you can see that Ronaldo of Brazil is someone who should be studied for his offensive soccer skills.

I have already studied Pele, Maradona (https://www.angelfire.com/ma/vincemoon/Free_Maradona_video_clips.htm), and Cruyff (https://www.angelfire.com/ma/vincemoon/cruyff_video_clips.htm).  What does the study of Brazil's Ronaldo add to what I know already?

What Ronaldo adds to the picture:--the extensive use of the sole of the foot while dribbling as in: roll ball back with one foot kick forwards with other; move body close to 360 degrees in a tight turn while rolling ball with the soles of the feet; roll ball to side; roll ball back and then forwards with sole of one foot.

Also less importantly Ronaldo" shows how slight position of foot feints can replace the stepovers and the lunges that involve more body movement; he is evidence of the wisdom of bringing the ball to a halt when it is passed to you and you are in a crowd of defenders.

New tricks not shown above:

simple point the foot type fake, involving less movement than lunges or stepovers.

Uses change of pace on dribble like Cruyff and Maradona

We see again what we saw in the video above.

dribbles towards sideline parallel to endline then fires 25 yd shot into goal.

Shows again tendency to use 'scotch' move rolling ball backwards with sole of feet then forwards with other foot

Able to use physical strength to bull his way through defenders with his body.

Like Maradona often a fast moving touch the ball every four steps with best foot type of guy, he does more sideways cutting of this type than Maradona.

Uncanny ability to trap ball, bring it to a halt, and then get out of a crowd with the ball. Tends to halt balls passed to him as opposed to immediately moving with them.

Shows Brazilians including Ronaldo doing the move wherein the ball is rolled outwards and then inwards the foot all the while almost in constant contact with the ball.

This quick out and in move works well when the players executing the move have alot of access to high quality practice fields.

Then shows the adulated kick ball with right with left foot to right of ball trick done a few times.
