DAVID BOFFA

Height: 5-8  Weight: 150
Bats: Left  Throws: Left
Hometown: Bedford, MA

SCOUTING REPORT:

Batting: Not known has a big threat at the plate, but comes up with the big hit when it counts. A lefty to likes to go the other way with pitches. Some liken him to Japanese sensation Ichiro.
Pitching: One of the best pitchers in the league. Has a superb cut fastball, as well as an exploding slider. He is a workhouse on the mound. Works as hard as anyone in the off-season preparing himself for each tournament.
Fielding: He has limited range, but never goes home with a clean uniform.
Baserunning: Once known as a "station to station" runner. Boffa has become one of the more electrifying baserunners in the game. Pitchers are always aware when he is on base.

BIO:

This southpaw hurler from the "wrong side of the tracks" has been one of the game's premier pitchers for the last 10 years. From his first year with the "Lightning" to last year's performance with the "Uni-Brows", Boffa has shown that he is worthy of his 7 seven All-Star appearances, 2 Tournament Championships, and one MVP award. From 1991 to 1997, Boffa was known as a great pitcher who due to physical limitations, was unable to pitch a complete game. In 1997, Boffa weighed in at a hefty 205 lbs, while only standing 5 feet 7 inches. Even though he won his 2nd Championship, he decided to hit the gym hard. Losing 60 pounds in the next 12 months. Boffa came into the 1998 tournament, at a SLEAK 155 lbs, but his team, 'Turkey Dinnah', was unable to advance to the Finals. Losing to eventual champs 'Blue Thunder' in the Semi-Finals. Regardless, Boffa is a future Hall of Famer who is steadily gaining on Paul Stone for career playoff victories.
