Matches begin at 9:30 in the morning, and normally run until 1:00-2:00 in the afternoon. Westfield Practical Shooters is part of the Northeast Section of Area 7, of the United States Practical Shooting Association. Of our members, four have graduated from the National Range Officers Institute Level I training course, and one has gone on to complete Level II. Each match will include a classifier stage along with two to eight additional stages. Match results are mailed or emailed and are also posted on the
Northeast Section
website.
The New England Regional Revolver Championship will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2000 at the Westfield Sportsmans Club (match entry form). For more match information, please contact the Match Director at

or by phone 413-967-3641.
Practical pistol shooting is an action-packed shooting sport combining speed, accuracy, and tactics. Matches include a mix of speed shoots and field courses. Safe gun handling is stressed, with all rules of the Handbook of the USPSA fairly enforced. We recommend that interested shooters come to watch a match before participating. Do not hesitate to ask the Match Director for assistance. You will find that IPSC shooters are helpful, and are happy to help a beginning shooter. All that is required to compete is a suitable pistol or revolver of .38 (9mm) caliber or larger, a safe, legal holster and belt, magazine or speedloader pouches, and at least five magazines or speedloaders. Most matches require between 75-200 rounds of ammunition. Safety eyewear and hearing protection is mandatory for both shooters and spectators. Come and try it, Practical Shooting is a lot of fun!
