Chapter Eighteen ~The Telephone Call~

“I’ll call you mom.” April said shutting the passenger door of her car. It was a nice Spring day. April walked up to the porch where Monique was sitting drinking something. “So whats up?”

“Oh nothing really.” Monique said taking another sip of her water.

“Ok then why did you call me over here?”

“Oh yeah about my plan. Lets go up to my bedroom. I have some information on it.” Monique said getting up and opening her front door. April soon followed.

“Hey Mo isn’t that your bag?” April said pointing to the green bag that was on the couch.

“I’ve been looking for that thing.” She said picking up the bag. They walked up the stairs and into her bedroom. April sat on her bed.

“Ok so whats this plan?”

“Well, like I told you on the phone in one month and nine days it will be the one year anniversary of the Great Woods concert.”

“And?”

“Girl let me finish. Well, I was thinking that we get as many people from Massachusetts or whoever went to the concert and have a candle light vigil in memory of Taylor.” She looked down everytime she said that word.

“Monique that is the best idea.” April said walking over to where Monique was and giving her a hug. “Do you think that we can have it at Great Woods I mean the Tweeter Center?”

“Thats the thing I need your help with. We could have it outside, but it would be awesome to have it inside. We just need the permission.” April took the phone book that was on Monique’s desk and flipped to the entertainment section.

“Hmmm Te...Tweeter Center right here. Should we umm call it?” April said looking at Monique for reasurrance.

“Well, we have to even if it is outside in the parking lot.”

“You call Monique it was your idea.”

“No way you call.” She said pushing the phone away from her ear.

“Ok fine.” April dialed the telephone number that was in the yellow pages.

“Hello Tweeter Center this is Jane speaking may I help you?”

“Hi, my name is April and I have a question.”

“Ok what is it?”

“Have you heard about what happened to Taylor Hanson of the band Hanson?”

“Yeah it was tragic. Anyways what is your question?”

“Well, in one month and nine days it will be the one year anniversary of the concert at Great Woods I mean the Tweeter Center.”

“Yes...”

“I was wondering if some of the fans could get together and have a candle light vigil for Taylor considering that it was their first United States tour stop and concert for that matter.”

“Well, I think that it would be a wonderful idea, but I’m not in charge. You’ll have to talk to the man in charge. I can direct your call to his secretary and you can set up an appointment. He only takes appointments.”

“Ok that would be great.”

“Ok hold on.” She said. April was put on hold for about five minutes.

“Whats happening?” Monique said.

“They are putting me on hold to make an appointment with the head guy.”

“Hello Mr. Garret offices can I help you?”

“Hi I was just speaking with one of the receptionists Jane. She told me to set up an appointment with Mr. Garret.”

“Ah yes Jane just told me about that. Its a good idea, but you’ll have to ask Mr. Garret.”

“Ok when can I see him?”

“Are you still in school?”

“Yes until June 15th.”

“Ok well let me see. You can see him next Saturday at 10 AM.”

“10 AM next Saturday? That would be great thanks.”

“Whats your name miss?”

“My name is April Hogan. I’ll be bringing my mother and my friend with me.”

“Ok see you then.”

“Thank you.” April hung up the phone. She was so proud of herself that she actually made the phone call.

“I can’t believe we have an appointment!” Monique said.

“Yeah I know.” April turned on Monique’s radio. The girls just sat there listening to some music for a little while. It was odd how they haven’t been able to have a real conversation since the accident. It was like everything that they talked about was Hanson related. Now at least they could do some good with what was going to happen in the next month. Their lives were coming back not to normal, but the closest that it has been in awhile.
