Chapter Twenty-Seven*The First Speech*

Both of them took a deep breath and walked out onto the stage. April was wearing a black long dress and Monique was wearing a black top with a black skirt. Each girl had a pin on them had Taylor’s face on it.

“April you say the first part. I’m too nervous.” Monique whispered to April when they walked on the stage. She handed April the piece of paper. April looked back and saw the whole Hanson family in the doorway.

“Ok.” April walked up to the podium and pulled the microphone down to her level since April was short. Here goes nothing.

Thank you all for coming out tonight.

Tonight we honor the memory of one of the most inspirational person that I have known in my lifetime.

Even though many of us, myself included, have never met Taylor Hanson or his brothers, Isaac and Zac we feel like we have known him.

We don’t know the reason of his death, but we have to move on.

No I’m not saying forget him, I’m saying keep his spirt alive in all of us.

To the fans who are here tonight or if you are watching this across the country please lets keep Hanson alive in our hearts.

Thank you.

April folded the piece of paper up and left it on the podium. She was handed a candle and Monique and her walked up to the huge poster. They stopped for a second tears flowing down their faces like a raging river. They bent down and started lighting the sixteen candles. One for each of his years on this Earth. On the final and middle one they lit it together. Everyone in the audience was crying. People holding crosses and flowers. It was one of the most saddest moments in a lot of peoples lives. Just seeing his face or hearing his name made people cry. The girls walked offstage and were hugged by the Hanson family. The annoucer kept on talking. For the first hour there were many people speaking. Even Mrs. Hilary Clinton came and spoke to the audience. It was very moving. The girls just watched from the doorway occasionally going back to the dressing room.

“Girls I’m so happy that you are doing this for my son. It has been hard for us, but this is incredible.” Mrs. Hanson said when the girls were alone with her.

“Your son was incredible Mrs. Hanson.” Monique told her. At about 8:30 PM the girls went back on stage. They were told that they had to introduce Isaac and Zac.
