Chapter Four ~Four~

It took about a half hour to get through all of the traffic in Boston. Finally Amy, Monique, April, and Mrs. Hogan got to Logan International Airport. They got there right on time. Mrs. Hogan checked them in while the girls put their bags on the conveyor belt. Then there was the waiting period.

“When can we board the plane?” Amy cried after fifteen minutes of waiting.

“Anytime soon.” Mrs. Hogan exclaimed.

“Flight 3124 to Tulsa, Oklahoma is now boarding.” Everyone got up including a small group of kids their age and parents. All of them got on the plane and went to their seats. Since Mrs. Hogan go the tickets on such short notice everyone’s seats were scattered around. Monique ended up sitting behind Mrs. Hogan and April sat near Amy.

“Hi, I’m Mariah.” The girl sitting next to April said.

“Hi, I’m April. So why are you going to Tulsa?”

“Oh um...because.” She stopped and started to cry. April reached into her bag and pulled out some tissues.

“I can understand I’m going for that reason too.” Mariah took the tissues and wiped her eyes.

“Thanks.” She managed to say.

“No problem. I miss Tay a lot.” April opened her carry on bag and pulled out a scrapbook that she was working on. It had all Taylor pictures in it. “I just have to add the last thing.” April pulled out the article about his death out of her pocket.

“Can I put it in.” Mariah said. April knew that Mariah would feel some closure if she did it.

“Sure.” She handed Mariah the newspaper clipping and told her where to put it.

“Thanks a lot. Sometimes I don’t think I can go on.” She said looking out the window.

“Psst April.” Someone called from behind her. April turned around to see Amy.

“Hey what’s up?”

“I’m bored come sit back here with me. There isn’t anyone here.” April didn’t feel like moving. Mariah was cool. Also she looked like she needed someone’s shoulder to cry on.

“Not right now I’m talking to another Hanson fan, Mariah. There is an extra seat here so why don’t’ you come and join us.” So Amy got up and sat next to Mariah. The three of them chatted about why they thought Taylor did it.

Meanwhile Monique was quietly sitting by herself looking out the window. Mrs. Hogan was reading a newspaper from Tulsa. She found out more information on the funeral. As the plane drew closer and closer tears started to fill the girl’s eyes. Suddenly through the clouds Monique could see land. Her heart felt like it was starting to break as the seat belt sign came on once again. The time had come for the three girls, April’s mom, and their new found friend Mariah to face their fears. Somewhere in this city was a body that once was filled with a flame. A flame that they thought would be eternal with a gift of music.
