Chapter Six ~All Night Buffetts~

During the day that they were there they settled into their room and had something to eat. The next day was the judgment day. The day that they would prove if they could stand with the fellow Hanson fans and watch someone they adored pass by them. It was to be held at exactly one o’clock PM. April decided to where her favorite Hanson shirt. It was a black T-shirt and they were all playing their insturments. Monique decided to where one with a blue backround and they were standing in a corner. Amy chose to where a simple white shirt that just had their pictures on it. It was around one o’clock in the morning and Monique was still awake. She couldn’t sleep at all. Something was bothering her. A feeling in the pit of her stomach. She knew that something was going to happen and yet she didn’t know exactly what.

“Maybe I’m just hungry.” She said quietly to herself outloud. She got out of bed and put her sneakers on. Downstairs there was an all night buffet. She grabbed the spare key and closed the door trying not to wake any of the others up. She took the elevator from the fourth floor to the lobby. “Hmm which way to the buffet?” She said not knowing she said it outloud.

“Its the next door on your left miss.” Someone behind the counter said. Monique nodded her head in thanks and headed for the buffet. She pushed open the enormous gold and white doors and walked inside. To her surprise there was actually about 25 people in the resturant. At least I’m not alone. She said to herself. Monique then procedded to the buffet and grabbed a small plate, fork, spoon, and knife. Then got some fruit to eat. The price came to $3.00 which she handed to the lady at the counter.

“Hey Monique what are you doing down here?” A voice from beside her said. She turned her head to the right to see April in her pajamas.

“Me what are you doing here?”

“Oh I can’t sleep. This whole funeral thing is scaring me. I was having nightmares. Is anyone else awake upstairs?”

“Nope. I didn’t even notice you were gone. I saw Amy and your mom up there.” She said going to a table and sitting down. “So how long have you been down here?”

“About ten minutes. Before that I was out on the balcony looking at the stars. Its really pretty here at night.” April said putting her head on her hands. Monique finished eating and both girls thought it was best to go upstairs before anyone got up and noticed they were gone. They made their way into the lobby and back up the elevator retracing their steps before. Monique slid the key into the slot and slowly pushed the door open. “Good night Mo.” April said getting under her blanket.

“Go night Opes.”

“Mo?”

“Yeah?”

“Why do you think he did it?” April hadn’t ever asked Monique that question.

“I don’t know. I really don’t know.” She said drifting off to sleep. April fell to sleep about three seconds after Monique did.
