Chapter Eight ~Sixteen Chimes~

The sun seemed to be shining more as they got closer to the church which was in the center of the town. Already people had started to line the streets. The girls and Mrs. Hogan found a place to stand in the front of some people. It was about fifteen minutes away from the church. They could see the top of the church. It was coming out from the trees. It seemed that people didn’t want to get close to the church. It showed that the Hanson fans had respect for the mourning family. They stood there not talking for what seemed an eternity. Then word got around that the Hanson family had just walked up the stairs with the coffin. Nobody took a breath. Church bells chimed at every step they took up the stairs. It was Isaac, Zachary, Mr. Hanson, and a cousin carrying it up the sixteen steps. Tears were flowing down everyone’s faces. Even people who weren’t Hanson fans had bowed their heads and stopped walking. April looked down at the street there was a small puddle forming near her from her tears and the twenty people that stood near her. Monique had her hands crossed together and just bowed her head. Amy watched the top of the church and sobbed to herself. Mrs. Hogan just bowed remembering the joy that Taylor and his brothers brought to her daughter. She could hear the screaming as they came on the television and the crying as they lost every award at the Grammies. Mrs. Hogan knew that April would forever be a Hanson fan because the impact that three young boys would always be there in her heart even though one of them had decended from this great Earth.

All of a sudden you could hear doors shutting. It was the church doors. There were speakers outside so the fans could hear the mass. The priest spoke a few words. Telling the mourning family and close friends that Taylor was with God now. Whatever he was feeling then is now gone. He can’t hurt anymore. Nobody wanted to believe that. Taylor never hurt. He was always excited and full of life. The Eulogy was given by two people, Mr. Hanson and Isaac. Mr. Hanson talked about when Taylor was young and the good times that they all shared during his 16 years of life. Isaac talked about the fans who brought so much joy to Taylor. How after ever show he would be so full of life. He couldn’t stop talking about the fans. That is why everyone was so confused by why he did it. Isaac then talked about how he was such a gifted brother. Always giving and he always helped out. Isaac’s voice was slowly craking. For he was breaking down and everyone could hear it.

Outside people where screaming crying. Children were falling to the ground. Fans from all over the world where hugging people that they didn’t even know. Little children were crying into their parents arms and screaming TAYLOR NO NOT MY TAYLOR. It was devasting to people who were walking by. Monique had fallen to the ground with Amy and both sat in each other’s arms. Mrs. Hogan got down and was telling them that everything was going to be alright. April just stood there. Tears pouring out of her eyes, but there was no feeling on her face. No emotions. Her eyes just looked so deep. Then there were cords playing. Music was coming out of the speakers. Everyone stopped when they heard a song. It wasn’t a Hanson song though. Isaac and Zac were playing and singing it. The music sounded so empty without the piano. The song was so beatiful, but what was it called? Then all of a sudden the chimes came back. They were coming out of the church. Only the Hanson fans knew what was going to happen. The family didn’t, but they knew that they had to walk down the street while the coffin was driven to the cemetary.
