Chapter Nine *A Blanket*

As the chimes came to a hault a car had been started. A line had started to form at the side of the street. It took about another five minutes before the car actually started to move down the street. Out of the horizon April, Monique, Amy, and Mrs. Hogan could see the hood of the car. They took a breath of air and April did the sign of the cross. As it passed them they through their flowers like everyone else did. The blanket of pansies was slowly starting to form. The Hanson family was walking behind the coffin and just staring at the fans that had lined the streets to pay their last respects. The car had passed them after about seven minutes.

“Ok girls now what do you want to do?” Mrs. Hogan said staring at the three girls.

“Um I want to go to the cemetary, but not inside of it. Just outside of it.” Amy said. Everyone agreed and they started walking. A lot of the fans were doing the same. As the walked down the street the blanket had been getting bigger and thicker.

“I wonder how many fans were here?” April said. She couldn’t believe how thick it looked. The plan of the fans had worked.

“I don’t know maybe a few thousand.” Monique said to her. It must have been twenty minutes but they made it to the cemetary. Already fans were outside at the gate. April walked up to someone and tapped them on the shoulder.

“Excuse me, but how long have they been in there?”

“Oh not that long a few minutes maybe.” She said. April thanked her and walked back to the group.

“That girl over there said that they have been in there for a few minutes at the most.” Everyone watched in the cemetary. Nobody knew what they were looking for because you couldn’t see where he was buried. “Hey Mo do you remember when we first found out about umm about Tay’s death?”

“Yeah I do. When you have no light to guide you and...” April joined in. Followed by Amy. Then suddenly the fans started to sing it softly. Just then the whole Hanson family had come out from the cemetary. They drove back to the song of the fans. Isaac and Zac looked out at them and started to cry. Nobody knew if Hanson’s music would continue, but they hoped that it would. They needed something to help them through the rest of their lives. They prayed to God that Isaac and Zac would continue. Getting there was the easy part. Going home was devasting.
