CHAPTER 4

The next morning (the day the tour began), Katie woke up early, at 6:00 to make that she wouldn't be late again. She got dressed, did her makeup, hair etc., ate a little breakfast and packed her few last minute belongings. She was ready to leave by 7:00. She did a last minute check of her apartment to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything that she would regret leaving behind.

She grabbed her suitcase (which she had made sure to put by the door), locked her apartment and headed down the stairwell to the garage. She climbed into her silver Camaro, after throwing her suitcase in the trunk. She drove to the airport quickly, almost bursting with excitement. She was quietly humming to a tune on the radio when her cell phone abruptly rang.

"H-hello??" Katie said. "Oh, hi Katie. Its me, Tyra." the voice sounded worried. "Oh hi. What do you need?" Katie happily replied. "Well, I was just wondering, do you know where Mandy is??" she asked. "What????? What do you mean isn't she there yet??" Katie blurted. "No, thats why I'm asking you! No one has any idea where she is!!!" Tyra screamed. "Did you Call Devlin, see if she told him anything about being late or something???" Katie asked trying to stay calm. "Yeah, he said that Mandy didn't tell him anything." Tyra replied. "Jeaz!!!!! I am sooo gonna strangle that pretty little neck of hers. I knew she'd do something like this, this is soo typical of her." Katie yelled, sounding distressed. "Look, I know you have never liked her, but you can't just give up on her now. You know, your going to have to spend like 3 months with her, so you better get used to stuff like this." Tyra said. "That is if she ever shows up!!!!!" Katie huffed.

Katie pulled into the airport parking lot. She was still talking to Tyra when she grabbed her backpack and suitcase from her trunk. She flung the backpack over her shoulder and carried her suitcase in one hand, her cellphone in the other.

"Look Tyra, I just got into the airport. I'll find you as soon as I can. See you in a few." Katie said, trying to calm Tyra down. "Okay, but hurry." Tyra said hanging up, and biting her lip out of sheer nervousness.

Katie signed in, and had her luggage taken. She ran around for a few minutes trying to find the lobby to Gate 2-A when she spotted Tyra frantically trying to flag her down. Katie ran up to her, gasping for air. "Hey Tyra. Ok, since Mandy obviously still isn't here, you stay here and meet the guys, and Stephanie. And I'll go look for Mandy, maybe she got lost." Katie said, patting Tyra on the shoulder. Tyra knodded reluctantly.

Katie ran as fast as she could, looking in nearly 10 airport shops before spotting a Ladies Washroom. 'Jeaz, I should have thought of this earlier.' Thought to herself running into the washrooms.

And Can you guess who she found in there, peering at herself in the mirror, examining her makeup?? Of course, Mandy!!!!

"Mandy!!!!!! What're you doing in here??? Our plane leaves in friggin' like, 20 minutes. Get you butt movin' girl, or else we'll be late.!!!" Katie yelled at Mandy, grabbing her arm. "What?!? I was just checking my makeup, you don't have to freak out on me!!" Mandy pouted, unwillingly being drug by Katie from the washrooms.

Katie and Mandy did not speak to eachother until finally meeting up with Tyra. Stephanie had already been flirting with Brian, and Tyra had already greeted Devlin and Donna and was now having a conversation. "Hey, where have you two been?? We've been worried-sick about you!!!!!" Devlin screamed.

"I, had to go looking for Mandy. She was of course, in the bathroom, inspecting her makeup!!" Katie explained. "Well, Mandy will know better to be ontime next time. Won't she??" Mr.Devlin replied with sympathy. Mandy only smiled with being let-off so easily. Katie gasped. "What???!!!!!????? That's all the punishment she gets?? This is so unfair. Just cuz her fathers like a billionaire and she's been able to get away with things like this all her life, doesn't mean she gets off so easily!!!!!! When I'm like even 5 minutes late for a meeting or something you blow up in my face, like it's the end of the world!, and when she almost keeps us from going on tour, thats all the punishment she gets???!!!! I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!" Katie screamed in Devlins face.

Mandy just smiled at Katie, knowing that she had gotten victory. "Look, Katie calm down, and stop being so selfish!!!" Devlin replied, looking furious, and shaking a finger at her. "Calm Down????? Selfish!!!!!!!! God!! This is soooo unfair. So, just because she's rich and I'm not, she gets off the hook. You people suck!!!!!!" Katie screamed, throwing her hands up in the air.

She sat down on a chair, furious at both Devlin, and Mandy. 'This is so not fair.' Katie thought to herself, running a worried hand through her hair. She knew it was no used trying to defend herself anymore against Devlin, she knew she should just let it go.

Meanwhile, Nick was talking to Brian and AJ when her heard Katie start screaming at her manager. He abrupty turned around, trying to figure out what was going on. 'Jeaz, that's not very fair.' He thought to himself, trying not to interfere. He felt bad for Katie, and knew how she felt. When she finally had ended the arguement he saw her, sit down, with her head in her hands. He noticed her eyes starting to fill with anger.

He felt a sudden lurch of fear, when he saw Mandy approaching Katie with a smug look on her face. He knew what was going to happen, but did nothing to stop it.

"Hmmmmm...look, the my money wins me yet again, another fight. Too bad you don't have that advantage!!!!" Mandy bragged to Katie. Nick saw Katie's anger welling up inside her, she got out of her seat and sternly looked at Mandy. "Hey, there's one fight that no amount of money is gonna help you win, and you are going to have you ass kicked!!!!!" Katie yelled at Mandy pointing a finger in her face. "Uh-Oh!!!!Cat fight!!!!" AJ yelled to Donna and Devlin, who were embraced in a conversation. Nick saw the look of fear on Mandy's face. Nick knew that Katie could definately beat Mandy in a fight (even though Katie was 3 years younger, she was much stronger), and by the look on Mandy's face, she knew it too.

"Yeah well, at least my father didn't run out on my family when I was only 10 years old!!!" Mandy yelled back, having a look of accomplishment on her face. Nick saw Katie's jaw drop, but before he could stop her, she had thrown all of her strength into a fierce punch which hit Mandy square in the face, causing her to fall to the floor.

"If you ever say anything about my father again, I swear to god Mandy, you will regret it. GO TO HELL!!!!" Katie spit in her face.

By that time, all the guys had run over to hold Katie back from hitting Mandy again. Devlin ran to Mandy's side, hugging her and rubbing her back. Devlin cast an evil stare in Katie's direction.

Mandy was crying now, and Nick noticed that Katie was trying hard to hold back her teary eyes. He felt bad for Katie. He never had heard anything about her father before, but knew how much it must have hurt her when Mandy said what she did.

Katie couldn't hold it in anymore, she reached for Tyra who warmed her with a friendly hug, trying to comfort her. Katie was crying hard now. "Jeaz, poor kid." Kevin whispered to Brian. "Yeah." he replied, patting Katie on the back.
