Around 2 p.m. all members of Backstreet, all their girlfriends, a few body guards, and Debbie were in a stretched limousine. They arrived at the MTV studios and were greeted by a few people. Backstreet got ushered into a large room with a huge couch and one chair for John Norris. They sat down and waited for him to come.

"Everything cool Maggie"? Kevin asked a little concerned.

"Yeah, just a little scared"

"Don’t be, he is just going to ask a few real easy questions" Howie said.

"Yeah, but I’ve never done this…you all have done this a thousands times"

"Yeah and it is really no big deal," Brian added.

Just then John Norris walked in. He shook everyone’s hand.

"It is nice to see you all again, and it is nice to meet you Maggie" John said.

Everyone said his or her hellos.

"So lets get started…first I want to know why you decided to add a new member"? John said.

"Well we felt that the whole quote unquote boy band thing was getting old…people are tired of the boy bands out there, so we decided to add a female member therefore the group would be different" Howie said.

"Okay, and how do you thing the fans and media are going to react to all this"? John asked.

"Well we hope that they understand and are willing to accept our new member" Kevin said.

"Okay, now Maggie how did you feel joining a group that was already established and not to mention all men"? John asked.

"Well when I first found out that I would be in the group, I was happy, but at the same time a bit confused. I mean they are the Backstreet Boys and I was a huge fan…so I never thought of seeing myself being apart of the group. I was also nervous joining the group because I didn’t know if the guys would even like me," Maggie said.

"So were you nervous for nothing"? John asked.

"Yep, all the boys have been very nice to me…they try their best to make me feel like I’ve been in the group since day one" Maggie with a huge smile on her face said.

"Oh isn’t that sweet" Brian said joking around.

"Leave me alone Rok" Maggie said playfully hitting him.

"So it didn’t matter to you that they were all men"? John asked.

"Well yeah…not a lot, but yeah it was something I was thinking about. I mean it is very clear that men and women are different in ways and I’m always a bit nervous when it comes to hanging with boys…so I was kind of acting all different when I first meet them" Maggie said.

"What do you mean acting different?" John asked.

"Well you know I was acting all stupid and saying dumb things, but after I got to know them better, I realize that they are all just normal guys" Maggie said.

The interview went on for 20 minutes or so. Maggie was feeling good; it wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Everyone was now getting make-up done for TRL. They all sat around a green room where there were plenty of fruits, cheese, and beverages.

"You all have 10 minutes until showtime," A women said entering the room then leaving.

"Okay"? A.J. asked Maggie sitting down next to her.

"Yep…I’m just going to keep reminding myself that it is really no big deal," Maggie said.

"Good, just be cool" A.J. said rubbing her arm to soothe her.

Amanda noticed that her boyfriend was a little to close to Maggie for comfort. She decided to take a seat next to him.

"Baby" Amanda, said almost whining.

"Yeah" A.J. responded.

"What are you two talking about"? Amanda asked.

"Oh nothing…just trying to calm Maggie down" A.J. said.

Maggie felt a little uncomfortable. Amanda was giving her a look she just didn’t like. She hoped that Amanda didn’t think she was flirting with A.J. because it wasn’t Maggie’s style to flirt with a man who was already taken.

"Okay showtime…follow me," A women said walking in.

Backstreet stood in a hallway waiting for Carson to introduce them.

"Okay, put your hands together for Backstreet" Carson told the audience.

Backstreet walked in and stood next to Carson. The audience was going crazy, shouting remarks to the group. After they settled down Carson began speaking.

"Welcome, thanks for coming" Carson said over people screaming.

"Nice to be here" All the guys said.

Howie stood next to Carson with Kevin, Nick, A.J., Maggie, and Brian on his left.

"And lets point out the obvious…you have a new member" Carson said.

"Really we do" Brian said joking.

Everyone is the audience began laughing.

"Yeah…so introduce yourself please" Carson told Maggie.

"Hey what’s up everyone, I’m Maggie and I’m now part of the Backstreet family" Maggie said with a huge smile.

Maggie was a little surprised that the audience was clapping and screaming after she introduced herself.

"Okay, so do you want to explain to the fans who might not understand" Carson said.

"Well it’s simple, The Backstreet Boys wanted to broaden there fan base and hope to accomplish that by adding a female member" Maggie said.

"Okay, that’s sounds like a good idea…who came up with that idea"? Carson asked.

"Well our manager Donna came up with it" Kevin answered.

"Okay…lets get back to the countdown, coming in at number 3 is Britney Spears with Crazy, more with Backstreet" Carson said.

After the Britney Spears’ video, Carson continued making small conversation and then introduced the number 2 video from N’sync.

"Okay after the brake more with Backstreet…and the number 1 video" Carson said going into a commercial brake. Soon the brake was over.

"Okay we have been hanging out with Backstreet, so far we meet the new member of the group, and now if you all don’t mind…we want to take a couple of audience questions" Carson said.

"Sure let’s answer some questions," A.J. said.

"Okay, I believe we have a girl name Kim in the audience with a question" Carson said.

Kim stood up.

"Hi guys, and welcome Maggie" She said.

"Thanks’ Maggie said with a smile.

"Okay, I just wanted to know what are you guys going to do about the video that you have…I mean it has already been made and don’t you want your new band mate in the video"? Kim asked.

"Well, it’s no biggie…we are just going to involve Maggie in everything in Backstreet’s future" Howie said.

"Okay we are going to take one more question and then get to the number 1 video…um where’s Lisa with a question"? Carson asked.

"Right here" Lisa answered.

"Okay Lisa ask your question" Carson said.

"Well first of all hi everyone, I just wanted to know if any of you have girlfriends and in Maggie’s case a boyfriend"? Lisa asked.

"I have a girlfriend" Nick responded.

"Me too" Howie added.

"Me three" A.J. said.

"Um, I currently am dating someone" Kevin said.

"I have someone special in my life" Brian answered.

"Well I feel like a loser now…I am totally single" Maggie said laughing.

Almost every male in the audience began screaming when they heard Maggie’s answer.

"Well it doesn’t look like you’ll be single for long" Carson said.

"I feel so loved," Maggie said smiling at some guys in the audience.

"Okay, I want to thank Backstreet for coming, please feel free to drop by our studio when your in New York" Carson said.

"We will" Kevin said.

"Okay here’s the number 1 video from our guest Backstreet" Carson said.

Soon TRL was over, and Maggie was relived her first television appearance went so well. Everyone headed back to the hotel. They all decided to rest a little and then get ready to go out for dinner.
