GREEK ADVENTURE I went to Greece in May of 2001. Sadly, with agency and the bus, so we couldn't really stop where someone would think it would be appropriate. First evening - after stepping off the plane - we occupated the hotel in Athens, one of the most polluted cities in the world. The guide said there are 2 millions of cars in the streets. Many of them old, with thick layer of dust on them. Even new cars catch up dust very soon due to the polluted air. My friend Aleš has told me I would see many GSs, but most of them were unusable, sitting on the ground. GSAs are more common (some of them with chrome bumpers) and some BXs. I saw only one DS and one SM (from the bus). |
In the mountain village I found a really nice 2 CV. |
Beaten up 2 CV in Athens. |
Greek Ami 8. |
Once more. |
When we rolled through the countryside, I noticed almost every house had 1 or 2 old abandoned cars in the forefront. It's nothing unusual to see the car left at the roadside, standing there for many years without being towed away and with paint being sunburnt totally. |
GSA... |
Sitting in the sun... |
Greek Police with Xsara. |
Citroën service station. |
Not Citroën, but sunburnt to the prime paint. |
Well, all after all it was very pleasureable experience. I hope the Greeks are not offended by previous statements - I've had much fun... |
