The Wildebeest Cycle
A bit of explanation: One of the dorms at my
college is called Tavilla Hall. From inside the chapel, you can
see the front of this dorm, and so on days when the chapel
lecture is too much for me to take, I generally stare out the
window. One day I noticed that there was what appeared to be a
wildebeest on the top of the roof. I hold by this discovery, it
IS a wildebeest. If you'd like to see for yourself, take
a look.
On to the haiku.
WHAT IS THAT? |
I really think that |
There's a wildebeest on top |
Of Tavilla Hall. |
|
STAMPEDE |
They tell me it's not |
A wildebeest, that it's pipes. |
But I saw it move. |
|
TO THE WILDEBEEST, IN THE SNOW |
Poor, cold wildebeest. |
Accustomed to Africa-- |
Come down from that roof. |
|
UP ON THE ROOF |
The wildebeest basks |
Today, in the warm spring sun |
On its lonely perch. |
|
HELLO, UP THERE |
I have discovered |
Purpose in the wildebeest: |
It must be my muse. |
