What I use for AM is my Sangean ATS-909. It works great for listening to AM stations. It is great also because I can store the stations in memory.
Here is a picture of WPRO's tower. The tower is about 1/4 of a mile from my house.If you look closely you can see a dot. That is a guy painting the tower. WPRO was having there towers painted when this picture was taken. The whole process of painting the two wpro towers took about 2 weeks.
