Unpleasant Encounters- Part 1

Alexia was a pretty white girl who grew up in a small town in Kentucky. She had lived there since she was born and couldn't wait to leave. But now she was almost regretting it, she was afraid of what would be waiting for her in New York; she was afraid of the years of college she would have to go through to reach her dreams.
Skylar was a beautiful African American girl who grew up with her semi-wealthy family in New Jersey. She couldn't wait to head off college in New York; she had so much she wanted to accomplish. Her parents had no part in her decisions from now on. She was the happiest she'd ever been.
"I'm so sick of New York." Justin fell down on to the bed in his hotel room. "How can you be sick of it? We've only been here for 1 day." Lance asked.
"It's because Julia dumped him." Joey reminded him, walking in to Justin's room where the guys would figure out their plans for the night.
"Well, you're going to have to live with it since we'll be recording here for a few months." JC said feeling anything but sympathy for his young friend. 'He has so much to learn, he should stop getting attacked so quick.' JC thought.
"So... where's everyone headed tonight?" Chris asked quickly changing the subject instead of adding a dumb joke in his usual manner.
"I think we should hang out at a club." Joey suggested
"Oh, now that's an original idea." Justin said sarcastically.
"Well, it's not like there's much better to do." Joey shrugged.
"Yeah, he's right... five guys, no girls. We need to pick up some chicks in a club." Chris said making everyone smile.
"We are pretty pathetic." JC pointed out. "We'll meet tonight in the lobby and head out." They all left to their hotel rooms.
"This place is beautiful." Alexia said as she unlocked the door and walked inside her new apartment. She wasn't up for sharing a dorm when there was an apartment complex near by- one roommate, no loud parties or drinking all around her, and no college rules. She walked around and looked in every part of it, checking from top to bottom. She found a bedroom and threw some of her bags down by the wall, she thought she'd check the place out before unpacking her whole car.
"Hello!" Skylar's voice echoed through the empty apartment.
"Hi!" Alexia said pleasantly. "I'm Alexia."
"I'm Skylar, nice to meet you." She shook her hand and then started looking around.
"This place is pretty nice isn't it?" Skylar said admiring the few rooms.
"Yeah... and I'm glad I get to split the rent with someone because I don't know what I would do if I couldn't. I hate college dorm life... well, the sounds of it." They both laughed.
"After I unpack we should go out." Alexia suggested. Skylar looked her over and noticed how different she looked from herself.
"My friend Julia lives here, she was going to take me out to one of the best clubs tonight. You can join us if you're up for it."
"Sure... it will be so much fun!" Alexia agreed, she definitely needed to find some friends. "I'm just going to bring in boxes and whatever I have in my car, I'll unpack them tomorrow and go to the club with you tonight." She said as she walked out of the room feeling uncomfortable.
"It will be so much fun!" Skylar repeated after Alexia had left the room. "Fun my ass."
Part 2
"So is everyone ready now?" Lance said impatiently. Four of them had been waiting for Justin for nearly 45 minutes now.
"Yes." They all answered.
"It's about time." Everyone got into the limo and headed for the usual club they went to while in New York. They were left up close to the club, but not in front of it so they wouldn't be as noticed.
"Back at the door around 1, okay?" JC asked.
"Why so early?" Joey whined, like a little kid.
"Just so we can meet up and see how everyone feels.
"Whatever... " They all went separate ways onto the dance floor. Girls crowed around all of them right away like usual.
"So this is it?" Skylar said to Julia.
"Are we old enough to get it?" Alexia asked.
"Of course." Julia snapped like Alexia and her questions didn't matter.
"Let's go then..." Julia dragged Skylar behind her not paying much attention to Alexia. She looked around with a nervous smile on her face. She started walking towards the bar, she knew she couldn't drink but at least she would feel a little better. As Alexia sat down she noticed right away that her "friends" were out dancing, she wanted so bad to fit into that crowd.
JC was getting a little tired, he walked over to the bar and sat down next to a beautiful girl who looked to be about 18. She had long blonde hair, deep green eyes, and a short, thin frame. He ordered a drink and finally introduced himself to the young girl.
"Hi, I'm JC." He said holding out his hand.
"I'm Alexia. Nice to meet you." She put her small hand into his as he shook it gently.
"So are you here with friends?" He asked.
"Yes, no.... well, sort of." She said shakily. 'Oh smooth move.' She thought.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked curiously.
"Well, I just moved here and I have a new roommate, I'm with her and her friend, she's different though, we haven't gotten along very well lately." Alexia sighed deeply.
"Now you're here with me, I'm your friend. Let's dance." She took her hand and they started dancing. She felt so uncomfortable at first but let herself go after a while.
"Oh look, Alexia found a friend." Julia said noticing the petite girl on the dance floor.
"Hmm.. let's go steal him away." Skylar laughed as they walked towards her.
"Alexia, who's your friend?" Skylar asked and then noticed Julia's jaw drop.
"Julia?" He questioned looking from Alexia to Julia and then scanning the room to see if Justin was around.
"Yeah, is Justin here with you too?" She yelled not just because of the music but because she was upset.
"Yeah he's over there." JC pointed across the room to Justin who was dancing with some girl wearing next to nothing.
"Great! I think I'll pay him a visit." Alexia looked at Skylar with a confused expression, she just shrugged and followed Julia.
"What was that about?" Alexia asked JC.
"Justin is my friend and that's his ex-girlfriend."
"Ohhh." She continued dancing with him for a while.
Part 3
Alexia found Skylar later that night and they decided it was time to get home.
"I had a lot of fun. I hope to see you some time." Skylar said good-bye to Justin.
"Bye... " Alexia paused trying to remember his name, "JC?"
"Later, Alexia." Skylar looked over and noticed him lean in and kiss her cheek after whispering something in her ear.
"So did you have fun?" Skylar asked as they took a taxi back to the apartment.
"Yeah... I didn't think I would, how about you?" Alexia waited for an answer and didn't hear anything. "Skylar." She waited again, "Skylar!" She yelled hitting her arm softly.
"Oh sorry, what was the question?" She said snapping out of her daydream.
"Did you have fun?" Alexia repeated.
"Oh, yeah." She answered quietly.
"What happened to Julia?"
"Well, she stormed out of the room after seeing Justin and then he asked me to dance." She smiled at the thought and then sighed deeply thinking of what Julia would have said. If it was anybody else Julia would have been so proud, but it wasn't. Skylar felt so bad for having such a great time with her best-friend's ex-boyfriend.
"So did you guys have fun?" Joey asked as they headed to the hotel in a limo.
"Yeah... " Justin and JC said in a dreamy fashion. Lance, Chris, and Joey started laughing uncontrollably.
"What?" They both said and looked at each other.
"Who are the girls?" Chris asked.
"Alexia... she was... beautiful. No, words can't describe her. She's amazing." JC sighed and all the guys laughed again.
"And Justin?" Lance asked not sure of what to expect after his recent break-up.
Justin looked at everyone who was waiting for an answer and he only said one word- "Skylar."
"That's it? No words of love for her?" Lance said in disbelief.
"Well... she's umm... great." Justin said.
"She's Julia's best friend." JC finished for him.
"Thanks man!" Justin said sarcastically and patted him on the back.
"Skylar, what's wrong?" Alexia walked into their TV area where Skylar was sitting with a book upside down in her hands.
"Nothing, I'm reading." She answered staring intently at her book.
"Hun, look, it really helps if you hold the book this way." Alexia said taking the book and flipping it right side up.
"Yeah... I was just... " Skylar tried to finish but she couldn't think of any explanation.
"Sky, just tell me, you know you can trust me. Unlike Julia, I listen to your problems and help, I won't ever use them against you."
"Sky." She sighed. "Justin called me that." Alexia smiled softly, almost sympathetically. "Look, don't feel guilty about being happy with Justin, Julia would have done it to you. And if you ever want to talk about it, I'm always here." Alexia put a comforting hand on her shoulder and than walked into her bedroom.
"Great. A bed would help a lot here." She sighed and sat down on the floor. She grabbed her pillow she had used on the drive up and fell asleep, right on the floor.
"Let me get this straight. Julia comes to the same club we're at with her best friend and when she leaves you go after her best friend." Lance repeated the story actually getting it correct this time.
"EXACTLY!" JC screamed very loudly.
"God JC, we do have ears." Chris said covering his ears like he was hurt.
"Than why don't you use them to listen to the story the first time!" JC asked. They all rolled their eyes and went into the hotel.
"We don't have to record tomorrow morning so I'll see you guys on Monday unless we meet up." Justin slammed his door and they all went their own rooms.
Unpleasant Encounters- Part 4
"Alex." Skylar whispered softly nearing her curled up body. "Alexia... " She said again a little bit louder. "ALEX!" She screamed hitting her with a pillow. Skylar watched Alexia slowly open her eyes and wake up. "What the hell are trying to do? Kill me?" She asked sitting up. "You were snoring really loud and it was ruining my beauty sleep." Alexia rolled her eyes.
"I really don't have any control over that. What time is it anyway?" She said squinting her eyes to read her watch that had been lying beside her. "It's eight." She said backing away from Alexia. "I've got to get unpacking anyway, I'll be quiet if you want to sleep later." Alexia said quietly gathering her pillow and blanket. "No, no... I'm awake, I should get my stuff too." She continued, "We can go shopping and get tons of stuff to make this little place look better if you want to." Skylar walked into the through the doorway into the bigger part of the apartment. "The small couch really doesn't do much for me, so I guess we could go." Alexia said walking into the bathroom and turning on the water. "Yeah, well it's better than nothing. My parents said to buy whatever we need and they would pay. Now that me and my sister our gone they have no one at home to spend money on so they'll have to let me spend it for them out here." Alexia laughed and than closed the door getting in to the shower.
"JC open the damn door!" Justin said banging on the door. "Shut up!" He yelled walking to the door. He opened it and let Justin inside his room. "You got to let a man get some sleep." He said rubbing his disheveled hair. "I'm sorry but I was thinking about Skylar the whole night and I have a plan." Justin sat down in his chair and JC got ready for another boring conversation.
"So here is Julia's number, you can call her whenever you're ready." Justin said writing down the last digits of her number. "Let me get this right, I call her and ask for Alexia's number and then ask her AND Skylar out so you can get her." JC looking over Justin's shoulder. "Yeah, thanks man." He said walking out the door. "Great!" He said falling into the chair.
Alexia watched Skylar place her last item of clothing into the closet. "Finally!" Alexia said with exaggerated hand motions. "I have a lot of clothes, I can't help it if you're fashionably challenged." Skylar said closing the doors of her large closet. "Fashionably challenged?" She laughed. "Yeah, it's not very funny. I'll help you pick out some clothes next time I go out, so don't worry about it." Alexia started to say something but then decided she would keep her mouth shut.
"Julia? It's JC." He said as he sat alone in his hotel room. "JC? Oh hiii... how have you been?" She asked trying her hardest to sound happy and carefree. "Good, good... how are you?" He said trying to be nice before he got to the point of the phone call. He never really liked Julia but he wasn't about to be rude in a time of need. Anything that would get Justin to leave him alone would be just wonderful. "I've been better." She said dryly. 'Oh great, don't say anything about Justin.' He thought as he started to daze in and out her words. "Yeah, that's nice." He'd mumble every few seconds. "Well, yeah. He's really sweet." JC sat up straight trying once again to get a word in. "Julia, I was wondering if I could have Alexia's number." He waited for an answer. "Alexia?" She questioned. "Yeah, that girl that was with your friend the other day." He said remembering the night. "Oh yeah, her... hold on." She gave him the phone number and he wrote them down quickly trying to get off the phone quickly.
After hanging up he went to Justin's room that was to the right of his. He knocked on the door and was let in right away. "Did you call her?" He asked with a smile on his face. "Julia, yes. Alexia, no." He said handing him the number. "Read it to me while I dial." Justin sat trying to figure out what Alexia was saying on the other line.
*I try but I cant seem to get myself/To think of anything, but you/Your breath on my face/Your warm gentle kiss, I taste the truth/I taste the truth
We know what I came here for/So I won't ask for more/I wanna be with you/If only for a night/To be the one whose in your arms/Who holds you tight/I wanna be with you/Theres nothing more to say/Theres nothing else I want more than to feel this way
I wanna be with you*
"Sky... " Alexia said lifting up one ear of her headphones. "WHAT?" She said as she turned down the volume. "Umm.. JC called and wants us to go out with him and Justin tonight." She said. "I don't know if it's right. I like Justin a lot but it feels so wrong." Skylar thought out loud. "She won't have to know, just think about it and let me know ASAP." Skylar closed her eyes and put her headphones back on.
After Skylar decided they would go out she helped Alexia get ready for their dinner date. "So, you really like JC?" She asked as she applied Alexia's eye shadow. "No.. well, I DO like him but I don't really know him well yet." She said her eyes flickering every few seconds. "Keep your eyes shut." She said going off the subject. "Well, it'll be fun, we can go our separate ways after and you'll get to know him."
Dinner was at a fancy restaurant in town, which neither of the girls expected. They were both dressed nice so it was great. Everyone met up at dinner and enjoyed the time spent together. After dinner Justin decided to take Skylar for a walk in the city, JC and Alexia went to a Jazz club that was in town. She never thought JC would be into that type of place but she was glad he wanted to go.
"So JC, you like this really like this place?" She asked as they sat down at a small table with coffee. "Yeah, no one has ever wanted to go with me before, I'm glad you could come." She smiled softly. Alexia knew she would never find the perfect man but JC was coming pretty close to it. "This is nice." She said looking around. They sat for a while, still getting to know each other, both sharing many stories of their past.
"This is so pretty." Skylar sat as they sat on a bench looking up at the stars. "Yeah, I know. Look at the shooting star over there, make a wish." Justin said pointing up in the sky. After closing her eyes tightly for a minute she opened them to find Justin's lips coming closer to hers. She closed her eyes again as he kissed her softly. He held her long after the kiss as they sat in silence, both not wanting to ruin the moment.
*So I'll hold you tonight/Like I would if you were mine/to hold forever more/And I'll saver each touch that I wanted/So much to feel before/How beautiful it is, Just to be like this*
"This is perfect, Justin." She smiled, "I only thought this happened in those cheesy romance novels." He laughed. "Yeah, without the cheese." She bit her lip than burst into a fit of laughter. "If it wasn't cheesy before that comment just made it." She said between her laughter. She started to wipe tears that were pouring from her eyes now. "This is too great, I've never had this much fun doing so little." He pressed his lips to hers again. "We could do more at my hotel if you'd like." He said after pulling away. She thought about it for a minute.
*I wanna be with you/If only for a night/To be the one whose in your arms/Who holds you tight/I wanna be with you/Theres nothing more to say/Theres nothing else I want more than to feel this way I wanna be with you*
"Let's just stay like this for a little while." She said leaning against him, still in his arms and looking up at the stars. She blocked everything from her mind, trying to not to think about what he said. She wanted to take it slow and he was already moving way to fast, but then again she wanted him so bad.
*Oh baby/I can't fight this feeling anymore/It drives me crazy when I try to/So call my name/Take my hand/Make a wish/Baby, your command?*
