L U N A C Y
Lunacy is a metal/hardcore band from the Boston area. The band consists of Nate on
bass, Mike on vocals, Sean on the drums, and Joe on guitar. Formed in October of 1994
at the young ages of 12 and 13, each member of Lunacy picked up his instrument for the
first time and began playing cover songs by their favorite metal bands. Starting from
literally nothing, the band constantly practiced each day to avoid boredom and improve
their musical abilities. As time went on, Lunacy began playing shows in their area,
gaining attention from kids in their own and other surrounding suburban towns. After
being together for nearly four years and playing many shows around Massachusetts,
Lunacy decided it was time to record their own form of brutal music. In February of
1998, Lunacy independently released their first CD, “Zero-Moment Point.” At the young
age of 16, the band realized that this was just the beginning for them.
Musically, Lunacy is difficult to describe. Complex drumming, chaotic guitars, and
aggressive vocals combine to create intense, brutal music that would be unfair and
impossible to label. Lunacy’s musical ability has been taken to the next level by the
countless amount of shows they have played over the past few years. With performances
that can be best described as emotionally intense, seeing Lunacy live truly conveys their
music and the meaning of their name. Insanity.
Soon after the release of their CD, the band went back to the studio to record the 3-song
tape, “A Turn of Tides.” This is their most recent, and without a doubt, best recorded
material to date. This is the direction of things to come.
Lunacy is currently looking for a record label to put out an EP or full-length CD of new
material that is far beyond anything they have done in the past.
