Scene 1: Towers

(Michelle's at Towers alone, talking to Danny's answering machine.)

Michelle: Oh, hi. I thought you'd be home from the concert by now. I hope you had a great time. I'm just calling to say "hello" and I love you and I'm crazy about you, and I'm thinking about you and call me when you get the chance, okay? I love you. Bye. (Peeelar walks up.) Hi. Thank you so much for meeting me here.
Peeelar: Well, actually, I don't have alot of time. I'm meeting someone for dinner.
Michelle: Okay, I just--I wanted to talk to you about Bill. (Peeelar sighs and looks irritated.) Look, I know that it's none of my business, believe me, I know, I just really think you should know how he's handling all of this.
Peeelar: Look, Michelle, we broke up. People hurt, that's what happens. Why are you coming to me?
Michelle: Because Bill's my best friend. And...I know you still care about him.
Peeelar: It's over, and there's nothing more to do.
Michelle: There is. (Getting a little louder.) You can at least--sorry. (Quieting down a little.) You can at least help him understand. You know, you can--you can explain to him what happened because he really doesn't get it. He doesn't.
Peeelar: Michelle, you know, I'm sorry. I'm really late for dinner, okay?
Michelle: Just think about it. Think about the fact that he lost everything. His future, his faith in himself, and now you. I just don't think you can leave it like this.
Peeelar: Yes, I can. He's bettwe off without me or my family and you, out of all people, should understand that.
Michelle: Well, yeah. Danny and I got out, but so can you.
Peeelar: What if I told you that I don't want to get out? That I'm happy right where I am? (Well, I'd say "dammit!" because that would mean you're not going to get off my television screen anytime soon!)
Michelle: I don't think I'd believe you.
Peeelar: Neither did Bill. And that's the problem. See, you and Danny can do whatever you want with your life. This is my life and my family. And this is where I belong. (No, no, no. You belong in Spain. Go back to school! You can't do anything with a major in Philosophy. Get a new major or something! Anything, just please, get off my screen...)

Scene 2: Towers

(Michelle is on the pay phone talking to someone. Why doesn't she just use her cell phone? Oh, well...)
Michelle: Okay, yeah, I'll see you soon. Okay, bye. (See's Ben and Peeelar eating dinner and walks over to them.) Really, Pilar, this is why you can't talk to Bill?
Ben: If you don't mind, we're having a private conversation.
Michelle: Pilar--
Peeelar: You heard Ben.
Michelle: He sent the man that you love to prison. (Actually, he sent him to jail. Jail and prison are two different things...) You can't tell me that you enjoy his company.
Ben: You know, you should put your own house in order before you start throwing stones at this one.
Michelle: What is that supposed to mean?
Ben: It means you think you have it made with this little surburban dream with Danny? Well, you bettwe wake up and face reality. Once a Santos, always a Santos. You think you're little cozy life is enough for him? You think you're enough for him. (Michelle kinda chuckles and then throw's a martini in Ben's face and walks off. All I can say is: YOU GO, GIRL!)

Scene 3: Towers

(Peeelar is wiping martini off of Ben's shirt.)

Peeelar: I can't believe Michelle did that to you. You okay?
Ben: No, it wasn't just me. I'm alright. She has other reasons.
Peeelar: What other reasons?
Ben: I'm going to go calm her down. (Walks over to the bar where Michelle is sitting.)
Peeelar: Gather your strength, Ben Warren, because then you're going to have to deal with me. (Cuts to Ben and Michelle.)
Ben: (Standing behind her.) Normally, I like my martinis shaken, not thrown in my face.
Michelle: Why don't you crawl back into the hole you came from, Ben?
Ben: But I understand. I know your home life must be difficult for you. (Michelle has this look like "what the hell are you talking about?" on her face.)
Michelle: You know, you really wish you had it so good, don't you?
Ben: Really? You don't feel the least bit insecure about Danny flying off to Los Angeles with his old flame, Teresa? (Michelle still has that look on her face.) He didn't tell you? Oh, yeah, they were on the same plane. I'm surprised, you two being so close, so in love.
Michelle: Actually, he did tell me, Ben. Both of them are going to a concert tonight, and both he and I are okay with that. (Spitting out this last sentence.) So why don't you go back to your little dinner date and order another martini just the way you like it. (Winks at him and walks away. I just gotta say it again: YOU GO, GIRL! Joie Lenz did an absolutely fantastic job in this episode! Kudos to her!)
