OUR CASSANDRA
Cassandra
It's lonesome here without you, sad and weary is the way.
Life isn't the same since God called you away.
We think of you in silence and often repeat your name,
but all that's left to answer us is your picture in a frame.
If steps could be made from heartaches, by adding teardrops too,
We could build a stairway to Heaven and climb it every day to you.
Friends may think the wound is healed when at times they see us smile.
Little do they know the heartaches that we feel all the while.
Days of sadness still come over us, secret tears often flow,
Memory keeps you near us, more than they will ever know.
To your grave we wander, flowers we place there with care.
No one understands the heartaches when we turn to leave you there.
