Chapter 10

I was almost frightened when I awoke with a pair of massive arms wrapped around me and a body pressed against my back.  But soon I felt fuzzy and content and lie there feeling Nick’s rhythmic breathing against me and his breath on my neck.  Feeling him breathe was nothing short of amazing.  Here he was, with me, alive.

Angie and Nikki awoke before Nick and I and began preparing for their days.  He stirred for a few moments but did not awaken.  He was used to sleeping despite bustle and distraction.

A half hour later there was a light tap at our door.  Angie made her way and opened it to find Nick’s best friend standing with his hands in his pockets and looking cautious.

“Hi” Brent said uncomfortably.  “I’m looking for Nick...actually, EVERYONE is looking for Nick.  Is he here?”

“Uh, yeah, just one sec.” said Angie walking into the room with the door still ajar. Brent walked in behind her, uninvited.  Angie turned and looked at him, annoyed with this entrance.  He hustled over to the bed and shook his peaceful, sleeping friend.

“Wake up, man.” Brent had both hands on Nick.

“Hmmm?” Nick opened his eyes and became surprised.  “What?  What are you doing here?”

“Radio interview...” Brent responded, removing one of Nick’s arms from around me.  “Billy is ballistic cause he doesn’t know where you are.  And Skip is ballistic cause you haven’t called the station.  Thank God I ran into Howie and he knew you were here.” Brent took in the room and the people in it, looking all the more confused.

“The radio interview isn’t til noon...”  Nick was whining now.

“It’s 12:15, buddy.”  Brent explained, becoming more and more impatient by the minute.

“Ah...shit!” Nick moaned.  He rubbed his nose on my neck, and whispered into my ear.  I turned my head and in a flash our lips almost touched.  Nick didn’t move away though and when he moved his lips to speak, they gently brushed against mine, soft and teasing.  “Lemme give you my cell number.  And I’ll leave tickets for you on will call. Call me when you get to the venue.”  I examined his face as he told me what to do.  “I wish I could spend the day with you.” he added, looking disappointed.

“So do I...but think of all those other fans out there who love you.  Your adoring public wants you Nick Carter, and I can’t be selfish, now, can I?”  I batted my eyes at Nick.

“God!” he looked at me in disbelief.  “Where did you come from?”

“The stork brought me.” I teased.  Nick giggled.

“Let’s go, Romeo.” interrupted Brent.  “Billy and Skip are gonna have our heads.”

“OK, OK, OK.” Nick groaned as I moved so he could retract his arm from beneath me.  I sat up as he stood, yawned and stretched, then grabbed a piece of paper, writing down his phone number.  He then touched my chin and bent down to brush his lips against my forehead.  It tingled after he left his kiss.  “Thank you” he said softly, turned and walked out of the room behind his short, Italian friend.

When the door closed behind him, I felt a pit in my stomach.  The blood began rushing to my chest and I felt as if I would burst if I did not do something. I sat up on my knees and stared, wrapping my arms around myself where he had been holding me for the last few hours.  When I was sure that he was out of hearing distance, I let out an excited squeal as my two friends ran to the bed and hugged me, all of us in a fit of thrilled laughter.

The three of us got ready and headed to the mall to grab something to eat.  We saw RoRo at the Japanese food place and he requested our company as he motioned for us toward a table in the bustling food court.

As we were eating he eyed Nikki.

“I heard that you won a truck load of cash last night.”  he said between bites of Teriyaki chicken.

“Mmmhmm...what of it?”  Nikki loved flirting with him.

“So why aren’t we shopping yet, girl?” RoRo drawled in his quiet, husky voice.

“Eh hem...WE?” Nikki grinned.

“Yeah...WE,” he responded, “If it wasn’t for ME, you woulda never gone out with AJ and Howie, who I understand were your good luck charms.  So, the question is:  are WE goin’ shopping or what?”

Nikki let out a hearty laugh.  “Well, I guess you’re right.  And ah...I guess the four of us are going shopping...well... right NOW.”

*****

We all arrived at will call decked in our new threads.  I was physically exhausted from all the shopping.  Nikki had spent over five hundred dollars on each of us.  She had gotten a natural high off of it, enjoying spreading her happiness to her friends and to RoRo, who himself was becoming a friend as well.

I picked up our 3 second row tickets and we headed to our seats.  We located the BudLight stand and began drinking our favorite beverage while watching EYC.  They were always better after a few drinks.  We kept screaming Dave’s name as he wriggled in front of us.  He was a complete ham.  He blew us kisses and winked like a playboy.  The three of us got rowdy and the people around looked at us with wide eyes.

Finally, the boys came out, on fire once again, with the exception of AJ whom RoRo had told us was quite ill.  His voice was scratchy, but he still played the audience like an instrument.  We were all surprised when the three boys we knew kept coming to our side of the stage and making a point to sing to us.

Nick stood in front of us for Don’t Want You Back.  He slithered up and down the side of the stage, slowly girating his hips as he slid his hand down his groin and looked at me with hungry eyes.  His tongue slowly traced his perfectly formed lips as fire ignited my skin all over while watching him.  My desire was so natural and strong.  And I knew he was as hot as I was.  I could just tell.  Our eyes burned together and for a few moments, I could not separate myself from him, not knowing who was who.  When he walked away, I grabbed the back of the seat in front of me, feeling dizzy and overcome with lust.

When the show as over, we gathered at the car, jabbering about the show and how good it was once again.  We returned to our hotel with the message light blinking on our telephone.  We rang the front desk and retrieved our three messages.

*Hello to my three FAVE-OR-IT ladies.  It’s me, Bone.  I just wanted to see what ya’ll were up to tonite.  I think I’m gonna go chill in the lounge, play some pool, ‘cause I feel like SHEE-ITE.  Hope you enjoyed the show.  Angie...I saw you screaming for me baby, don’t deny it.  You WANT this marvelous BOD.  DAMN!  I’m HOT!  Heeee-haaaaa! K...Call me. Peace.*

*Angie.  Hey, it’s Howie.  I...uh...well I wanted to apologize for last night.  Not for all of it, but...I have to talk to you about Claudia and stuff like that, so gimme a call if you could when you get in.  Please don’t be mad at me.  I need to talk to you.*

*Hey Baby Kel, it’s the suckafish.  Heh...nah, it’s Nick.  I saw you guys havin’ fun at the show tonight.  I sang to you, did ya see me?  Anyway...uh...I’m glad you had fun.  I’m gonna see you tonight, right?  Call my cell when you get back, OK?  Later.*

After we each received our messages we called our respective men.  The plan was for Nikki and I to meet AJ and Nick in the lounge in an hour (it was being cleared of fans as we spoke), and for Angie to meet Howie at his room.  The three of us bustled around the room, getting excited for the long awaited evening.
